Innisfree Wine Jelly Sleeping Mask

Some times ago I was looking for a sleeping mask to complete my night treatment. After gathering information, I decided to take Innisfree Wine Jelly Sleeping Mask. Here is the description:

Enriched with wine extracts from France, wine creates a clear and smooth jelly-like skin by gently lifting away dead skin cells and providing hydrating moisture. This hydrating wine sleeping pack creates a clear and resilient jelly-like skin with its shape-memory barrier.

The texture is like a jelly pudding but it melts at body temperature and absorbs into the skin. It feels fresh and cool and not sticky at all. The smell is sweet and fresh like red wine.

I don’t see much different with my face in the next morning. Even after I use it a lot of time for several months. It does give me a slightly radiant complexion and a slightly moisturized skin but the effect gone when I cleanse off my face in the next day. But it is a suitable for giving a relaxing night due to its wonderful scent.

Before this I also tried a sample of Innisfree Green Tea Pure Sleeping Pack, and just like Wine Jelly, it doesn’t do much except makes my skin a little more hydrates.

My first sleeping mask, Hanbang Boyun from Dodo Club do much better. When I use Hanbang religiously every night, I found my face got a glowing look, moisturized, less oily, and the complexion looks dewy. Too bad it is so difficult to find Hanbang again in Indonesia.

Peel So Good Foam Cleanser (Enzyme Peel)

My friend told me that she found a new peeling product line from Etude. Therefore both of us ordered the sample just to make a try.
It is Peel so Good Foam Cleanser. It has three variants: Diamond Peel, Enzyme Peel, Natural Peel.

Description
Diamond powder / Enzyme / AHA, BHA formulated facial foam cleanser supplies a through cleansing with a smooth peeling of dead skin cells.

How to use
Apply to wet face and lather. Massage throughly and rinse with warm water.

Strength of Peeling: Natural < Enzyme < Diamond

I chose the Enzyme Peel sample. It comes in blue sachet.

The foam looks like transparent sheer gel that has many tiny beads. The beads is not melting on skin when being rubbed. I really can feel the beads scrub my face. The foam itself doesn’t really foamy. But small amount can handle my whole face.

The result:
It slightly reduces whitehead and makes my skin looks cleaner and smoother. But my skin goes a bit red after use it whereas I apply it lightly!

I wouldn’t buy the full version as it seems a bit harsh for my skin.

Tips:

Though it is foam cleanser but it is not a foam you can use daily. Use it once or twice a week
Always follow up with moisturizer to avoid your skin gets dry after use this

I have tried another peeling product from Etude that also has that "enzyme peel" tagline. One that I used before was the Magic Enzyme Pack Peeling. You can read the review here.

Makeup Remover Tissue: Biore vs Purederm

I used to get problem whenever I tried to remove my eye makeup, especially mascara. In the evening, I used cleansing milk as a makeup remover before foam cleanser. I found that the cleansing milk really stings my eyes if some of it accidentally enter my eyes. Though I always tried to do it very carefully, my eyes always sting and red. Therefore I decided to buy another makeup remover that is more friendly to my eyes. So when I went to shopping center and found Biore Cleansing Oil Cotton Sheet, I immediately bought it.

It is cotton sheet drenched with cleansing oil to remove makeup. The sheet size is actually quiet small. Only about 10 x 12cm. But it is enough to clean my whole face. Eyeliner pencil can be removed easily. While mascara needs to be swiped for a few times to be removed completely.

The cotton sheet itself is thick enough hence make it easy to be wiped without tearing the sheet. It leaves my skin feels clean and moist. It really helps to easily remove my makeup.

Besides, I also tried Purederm Makeup Remover Cleansing Tissue. Just similar with Biore Cleansing Oil cotton sheet, it is also a makeup remover wipes. The sheet itself is wider but a bit thinner than Biore’s. The cotton fibers are also more fragile.

I can’t really see a difference about the cleansing abilities between Biore and Purederm. Both of them are the same. They remove most of my makeup with one swipe but take a little more effort to get rid whole traces of mascara and eyeliner. Unfortunately I don’t have any waterproof makeup, therefore I can’t see how they works with waterproof makeup.

About the price, Purederm are cheaper than Biore.

Herb Day 365 Peach Cleansing Foam

Herb Day 365 cleansing foam from The Face Shop is my favorite cleanser. It has some variants: Mung Bean, Peach, Aloe, Spearmint, Lemon, Acerola. I have tried some of them and so far I find they bring a nice result and has a good price too. This time I'm going to review the Peach cleansing foam.

It’s a foaming cleanser. You just drop a pea-sized amount onto wet skin and activate it by rubbing it gently in circular motion. One thing I love with Herb Day cleansing foam series is the very gentle bubble it creates. The foam smells fruity and peachy which is refreshing.

This second-step cleansing removes away surface dirt. If you are using makeup, you should remove it first using first-step cleansing such as cleansing oil/cleansing cream/cleansing milk. Imposing foam cleanser for cleansing makeup will only remove more natural moisture and makes your skin drier.

The peach, compared to the rest variants (in my opinion) has a long lasting clean feel and somehow makes my face clean, looks radiant and feel fresh longer.

Though foaming cleanser usually tends to dry skin, the Herb Day cleansing foam series (imho) is less drying. I say this since it doesn’t leave squeaky-clean feel. When I leave my face without using anything after use this product, I only get a very little tight feeling which is still bearable.

The other nice thing I find is the large amount of herbal ingredient they put into this product. Not only Peach, the other variants of Herb Day cleansing foam also use so many herbal ingredient. No wonder it gives nice result on my face.

If you are looking for affordable and good cleanser, it is worth to try.

Burt’s Bees Radiance Night Cream

Burt’s Bees is one of my favorite organic brand. This brand is quiet rare in my country. When a friend go abroad I always ask them to buy me some Burt’s Bees products. I’m still searching where I can buy it easily and in a good price.

I have tried its several products and most of them are great. This time I would like to share my experience using the Radiance Night Cream.

It is night cream infused with royal jelly. Works to enhance radiance glow and minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The consistency is like 'whipped cream' and smells nice. It is okay for my skin: absorbs well and doesn’t cause breakout. But since the consistency is quiet rich, I’m afraid it would be too heavy for people with oily or sensitive skin.

After using it for several weeks I start see improvement on my skin. My skin looks slightly more radiant, smooth, and glowing. And the best is the fact that it is natural and organic so I shouldn’t be worry to have it on my face every night.

Neutrogena Fine Fairness Toner

Facial toner, is a “must do” part of my daily regime. The latest toner I bought was Neutrogena Fine Fairness Toner. I bought it during my visit to a shop in Batam City. It’s a toner supposed to lighten the complexion. I actually didn’t buy it due to its whitening properties since my face is quiet radiant. I was interested to pick it up from the shelf and bring it home since I was curios while reading that it brings soy as one of its active ingredients.

Before convincing myself to buy, I carefully checked the ingredients list. Well, I’m not an expert with what is safe and what is not for a product, but with all my limitation I tried to skim it to avoid all stuff sounds like alcohol, paraben, or dimethicone. After ensuring myself that everything was okay (beside of the fragrance which is listed in the bottom of the ingredient list), I picked this.

The packaging is okay. It comes in a simple white plastic bottle with screw cap. It is practical to use.

I use it after cleanse my face. Shake well the bottle first, pour out few drops unto cotton pad and then swipe it over my face. It always successfully helps to remove any traces of cleanser, makeup, dirt that were left behind. After using the toner I feel slightly cleaner, smooth, and fresh. And since it is alcohol free, it adds moisture into skin without leaving sticky layer on top of the skin. It leaves skin looks hydrated without shiny look. It also shrinks the appearance of pores.

Cons? Sometimes I get burning sensation (but it is very rare happen) and its whitening effects is not significant. I think we need to use its complete range to achieve optimal whitening result.

This is my 1st time writing about eye makeup. I used to not too care about makeup. My biggest concern is about how to fix up my skin appearance. But lately I start eyeing on new thing: eyeliner! Kracie Hadabisei Brightening Facial Mask

Using mask sheet is one of my secret weapons to overcome dry, rough, and dull-looking skin. Several weeks ago I bought Kracie Hadabisei Brightening Facial Mask. I found it accidentally when I was walking around in a supermarket. I bought this at IDR 27K. 1 sheet drenched by 20ml serum.

It says "vit C + Collagen to bright and moisturize skin". It contains:

Vitamin C derivative, to control the melanin occurance which help to prevent the freckles and dark spots to occur.
Fruit Acid (Lemon extract) to soften your skin's keratin.

How to use:

After cleansing and toning your face, take out a sheet mask.
Unfold the mask nicely, and place the sheet gently so it'll cover your entire face.
Leave on for 5-15 minutes or so, and then remove. Press the remaining fluid into skin with your hands. Do not rinse off.

The Essence is not sticky and it’s comfortable to use. It didn’t sting as well. I took off the mask after 15 minutes and my face was dripping wet. I followed up by massaging the essence into skin

Result:
Skin turns firmer, hydrated, and looks instantly more radiant. The essence fluid absorbed properly and leaves less of sticky feel on skin.

Lancome Hydra Zen Neurocalm Extreme Soothing Moisturising Cream Gel

I used to be fanatic to Korean skin care. But recently I start wanting to know more about western brands. After pondering on some products, I decided to buy the Hydra Zen Neurocalm Extreme Soothing Moisturising Cream Gel from Lancome.

After using it for 3 days suddenly I woke up finding big bumps on my nose. Since I was still confused whether it was caused by my Lancome cream or something else, I decided to keep using it. Several days later I got three other big zits on my cheek. The latest zits pushed me to stop using this product temporarily.

After ignored my Lancome for two days, my face became cleared up. Still didn't want to give up I used it again. This time I applied it less than usual. Actually though I use a little cream, my face wasn't dehydrated in the middle of the day. This cream hydrates pretty well. But, though I tried to use very few of the product, I still found some tiny bumps under my skin. So I stopped it immediately.

Now I left the cream inside my shelf. Only use it sometimes. This product is way too rich for my skin.

Facial Treatment at The Face Shop Part II

Again I got my second facial treatment at The Face Shop. My last facial was about October 2009 which was two years ago. The last experience was quiet good and this time was also nice.

After made an appointment several days before, I came at 2 pm and directly entered the treatment room. After changed my clothes to treatment costume, I laid in the bed. The therapist observe my skin under spotlight before suggested what treatment type suitable me. Since I got many zits around my neck, she suggested me to take Quick and Clean treatment.

At the former facial, the therapist used lip and eye remover but this time the therapist only used cleansing cream and cleansing foam. The foam smelled heavenly refreshing. After that she still applied some other stuffs which I guess was still in part of cleansing and maybe some kind like blackhead oil to soften bleackheads around my skin. Soon afterwards she put vapor mist to give relaxation and opened pores thus would ease blackhead removal process. Though I enjoy the vapor mist moment, I knew that the painful process: blackhead and blemishes removal would come soon.

Now go to the suffer moment (I hate this phase). The therapist put wet cotton pad on my eyes (to hide the bleeding tools from my sight *sigh). And she started the operation. Using blackhead removal tool she squeezed my skin to pop up the ugly blackheads (It's still bearable for me). Sometimes when she got deep embeded acne/blackhead she would use a tool like needle to suck it out (OMG it's damn sick). And sometimes she found heaviest acne/blackhead she would use her hands to squeeze it out ..ooh I'm gonna die.. (>.<). She finished it out within 45 minutes.

After that she cleansed it up and applied electrical tool which provide light electricity to reduce inflammation and kill the bacteria.

Next she applied another electrical tool which felt like a cold ice. I bet it was used to close the pores.

Soon afterwards she put massage cream and started to give me nice facial-neck-shoulder massage (yes I deserved this service after the painful moment). She said that since my face was okay (few acne) she could give me the facial massage. It can't be given if you have inflammed acne since massage it will activate sebum thus cause more acne. Then she followed it up by applying facial mask. At the former facial treatment the therapist gave me green clay mask while this time I got transparent mask which maybe was some kind like seaweed mask. After waited for 45 minutes (yes 45 since she was busy treating another patient), she cleared it up; applied toner, moisturizer, and finished with BB Cream. That's all.

What I like about The Face Shop facial treatment is that I get no reddish or inflamed face after the treatment. Besides, my neck which was full with blemishes now has cure.
What I don't like is the price which is quiet expensive.

Yoko Spa Milk Salt Before/After

Please do not focusing on my skin color which looked more radiant after using the salt. I bet it was the lighting only. I’m not a professional photographer thus I don’t know how to set the lighting.

Gold Kiwi Serum

Here is my experience with tester of Gold Kiwi Serum by The Skin Food. Here is the description (taken from here):

The texture is milky, watery and lightweight. Leaves no heavy feel. It absorb slowly. I wait for approximately ten seconds before it sink completely in my skin. It leaves matte look, isn't greasy and neither hydrating. It would be okay to be used before you apply makeup because of the non greasy texture. I applied a little too much of it and after 30 minutes it didn’t feel moist anymore.

Actually my trial run was not complete since I didn't have the complete set of Gold Kiwi moisturizer products (Gold Kiwi Emulsion and Cream). I still have faith that Korean products should be used in complete range to get its optimal result. So though I said this serum is not hydrating enough, I might say different comment if I use it combined with the emulsion and the cream as well.

Well that's all. It was just a tester. No long term observation. I was honestly not impressed with the tester.

Burt's Bees Body Wash, Lotion, and Cuticles Cream

I got a set of Burt's Bees when my husband went to Malaysia. It is a gift set wrapped in mini orange box with sweet red ribbon. It contains three items: a mini bottle of soap, a mini bottle of body lotion, and a mini jar of cuticles cream.

The soap named "Citrus and Ginger Root Body Wash". It states as 99.3% natural. What a good stuff! It creates a lot of light lather with energizing scent. I said it is "light lather" which means the lather is not creamy (rich). It lathers very well but feels not creamy enough. It leaves my skin soft and moisturized but the scent which is yummy isn't long lasting. The only thing which is a bit bothering is the screw cap bottle. I have to pour it out and close the cap afterwards which is quiet troublesome. Would prefer to have it in pump bottle.

Now proceed to the story of the lotion: Aloe & Buttermilk Body Lotion. It is not like the other body lotions I have used before. It is milky yet watery. Leaves sticky feeling. I apply it to my skin and wait and wait and wait but the sticky feel doesn't want to go. It feels less comfortable. The moisture is long lasting though the texture isn't heavy. I'm a bit bothered with the scent. It smells like raw aloe. Normally people go out with floral scent or fruity scent comes out of the products they're using. But using this makes me smells like spicy aloe. Overall, although it is a bit inconvenient to use, I think it's okay since the product stick to natural ingredients. Just like my experience: natural d.i.y treatment is often less comfortable to use.

The last one is the Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream. The texture is waxy; more similar to balm than a cream yet dilute easily. I massage it to my hand focusing on the nails and it absorbs pretty well. It keeps cuticles moisturized and smells great. I wash my hands pretty often and this stuff makes my hand nourished and moisturized. You have to wait for a while after applying this since it makes your hands kind of greasy.

Cure Natural Aqua Gel

I had tried some peeling gel: Arazyme, SNP, and some other products so that I didn't think I needed to try Cure Natural Aqua Gel though the girls rave it so much. I was thinking it must be similar to the other peeling gel products. Until someday I was planning to order some samples of BRTC blemish balm. The online store which I ordered the BRTC BB was also selling samples of Cure Natural Aqua Gel. So I decided to order it as well remembering that my Arazyme Peeling Gel is almost empty.

For you who doesn't know what peeling gel is, it is a gel which gives your skin an exfoliation to remove the dead skin and dirt. Removing the top layer of your skin is important to keep your complexion clean and smooth. Exfoliation is an important routine for me. I used to exfoliate my skin by peeling or scrubing once or twice a week. By doing this my skin is fairly protected from blackhead. But this product can’t get rid stubborn deeply embeded blackhead. I usually go to facial therapist to help me remove them. To exfoliate my skin, I ever used Skin Food Black Sugar Mask, Arazyme Peeling Gel, Etude Magic Enzyme Pack Peeling, and some other random products that was available in my beauty case.

Now, back to the topic, The Cure Natural Aqua Gel comes in gel texture, but will turn to liquid when it is being rubbed unto the skin. After rubbing it for a few seconds, you will see small white granules comes off from your skin. As the result, skin become smooth and hydrate.

It claims to be: No Fragrance, No Alcohol, No Artificial Preservatives/Coloring

How to User: apply a small amount on desired area after cleansing. Leave it for a few seconds to allow Cure Natural Aqua Gel to react to the skin cells. Avoiding the eye area, gently massage in a circular motion from 30 seconds to 1 minute. The gel will turn into a milky liquid and dead skin particles will be visible. Rinse well with water.

This is actually a good product. When I used arazyme, it felt mild. But it stings if I let it sit on my skin for few minutes before rinsing it, while the Cure Natural Aqua Gel is not. Besides, this product also gives me hydrate and smooth sensation everytime I use it. My skin feels moister than when I use Arazyme.

I’m eager to buy the full size someday! Going to collect my money first. The full size bottle is quiet pricey *sigh

Since most of my blogger friends have received this award too, so I think I will just stick with seven random facts about me. Here they are:

1. I’m very fond of local natural soaps lately. I’m trying to reduce inserting chemicals to my body. My favorite soap is citronella soap. I will review it someday.

2. My newest hobby is cross stitch. I used to be bored if I have to stay at home alone. But now I sometimes wish to be alone at home so that I can continue my cross stitch project. Here is the latest pattern I am currently working at:

3. My favorite snack is candied mango. It tastes a bit sour and sweet. I actually kind of scared to eat too much sugar, but the candied mango is always tempting to be enjoyed. You know what, my weight gained quickly and I become fatter since I often consume the candied mango. Now I'm trying to avoid eating it. I want to look slimmer :(

4. Currently there are new pet in my house, they are two cute little hamsters. My sister named them as Achan and Puchan. It is nice to play with them. But sometimes I feel sorry since they live in cages and can not live freely in nature.

5. Though I'm Asian, but I have reddish-brown hair color. Many people think that I dye it, but it is truly original color.

6. My favorite game in facebook is Pet Society and I never play other games. I’m a type of person who likes routine activity. Once I enjoy to play a game, I rarely have desire to play the other.

Fresh Juice C Emulsion

Hey, I just finished a sachet of The Skinfood Fresh Juice C Emulsion. Besides cleanser, I'm also keen to try various types of moisturizers. That’s why I was so excited when I received this sample.

Description:
This skin-brightening cream contains fruit complex extracts with vitamin C and nano-processed vitamin C derivatives to revitalize skin. It also contains arbutin to keep skin looking radiant and vibrant.

The Fresh Juice C claims to bring brightening effects, hydrates, and moisturizes at the same time. The texture is fresh, lightweight, absorbs promptly, and has mild citrus smell. It left no sticky residue on the skin and it hydrates my skin pretty well. But you know, Korean creates many types of moisturizer that actually meant to be used altogether. So if you intend to obtain a durable moisturizing effect, you should use not only this emulsion, but also combine it with the cream and serum.

Since I have oily combination skin, I sometimes get pimples. But honestly I never used acne medication treatment since none of them is effective for curing my zits. Instead, my zits actually healed if I apply a moisturizer that contains high doses of vitamin C. Therefore I also want to see if this Fresh Juice C emulsion is effective to heal my pimple. Unfortunately it did nothing with my zits. It even didn’t dry up as I expected. BRTC Vitalizer C cream did it even better. The BRTC dries up my zits only in a night. Well, maybe I need more applications before I can see improvement with my zits. But unfortunately the contents of my sachet had been empty.

Platinum Grape Cell Essence and Cream

Few days ago, a friend of my husband went to Korea. And as you can guess, I didn’t waste the opportunity to ask her bought me some beauty haul. I actually gave her some list of stuff to buy, but unfortunately she only managed to buy one: Platinum Grape Cell Essential BB Cream from The Skin Food. And as I often hear that store in Korea love to reward customer with many samples, my haul was also flooded with product samples gift.

Since I bought the Platinum Grape BB Cream, so I decided to try the samples which came from the same range at first. I usually use Egyptian Magic Cream as my night treatment. But last night I decided to leave my EMC for a while and tried essence and cream of Platinum Grape Cell instead.

Skinfood Platinum Grape Cell Toner & Emulsion Mini Gift Set

How I used it:
After used my toner, i waited until it rather dried, then I applied the essence. And after that I waited some minutes more before added a layer of the cream on it.

It felt slightly sticky upon application but then gradually disappear after about 30 minutes later. To be compared to Etude Moistfull cream, these products are less sticky and more comfortable for me.
I did not wake up with severe oily face in the next day. My face felt moist. I only got slight grease excess around my nose.

I also used both of the products as moisturizer before applying the Platinum Grape Cell BB Cream (just want to know how it feels to use products in a same line), and the result is good. There is no excess oil. My skin tone looks natural and quiet stable until I leave my office.

Recently I got a sample of MISSHA TIME REVOLUTION IMMORTAL YOUTH AMPOULE ESSENCE. I was absolutely very pleased and impatiently to try it.

Then I searched over the internet to find out what is the function of the product. Then, here is what I got:
High function ampoule essence that takes care of glycation vector that it is a cause of aging
Paraben free, Pigment free, animal nature free, Mineral oil free, Triclosan

The sample itself contains a very tiny bit of the product. But I could use it for 5 times application. Honestly that’s not a proper size for seeing a result objectively. But I’ll try to make my at-a-glance review as objective as possible.

The texture is colorless and liquid. It doesn't make my skin became greasy afterwards. It feels lightweight. After using the product, my skin texture seemed to be improved dramatically. The skin complexion looks cleaner, the pores are tighter, and moist. I can say that it is worth to try.

Yoko Spa Milk Salt

I had been curious about Yoko Spa Milk Salt since long ago. Until last week I went to a shopping center and I found it! It was the first time I found Yoko bath salt being sold in public store. I was a bit surprised knowing there is a distributor in Indonesia (it is used to be sold in online stores only). There were three variants of the product in the store: black, pink, and purple. At that time I picked the pink one.

I had no experience with bath salt. I usually did extra treatment for my skin with body scrub. So using salt for body was a new thing for me. The bath salt is pinkish and smells like strawberry milk. I wondered whether it would also taste like strawberry milk. Then on my second usage, I accidentally swallowed it, and it was salty!

So here was what I did: I rub it on my wet skin, left it about three minutes, rinse it off and continued with body wash.

There are a lot of girls say that the product works wonder to smooth skin, but I found it not very well acted. It stung and left red rash on my skin.

Besides, there’s also a little hassle about the zip-locker packaging. Once I pour the salt onto my hand, the rest of the salt grains stuck on the sidelines of the zip locker. It makes the container can’t be closed again. I think the zip-locker packaging design is useless.

Finally I read a review from Onik who also use Yoko Bath Salt. Then I asked her if I did it wrong. Onik told me that I should apply it instead of rub it and leave it for three minutes before rinsing. She warned me not to scrub since it will sting. So I immediately practiced as she taught that afternoon, and the result is good! Though I didn’t rub it as when I’m wearing scrub, it did make my skin become smooth and moist. Besides, the moist feel is long lasting, longer than if I use my body scrubs.

All in all, I like this bath salt and I will repurchase it. I’ll buy the black one next time.

Note: I found an article tells that bath salts is bad for people with high blood pressure. If you aim to use it and you have hypertension, you better consult with your doctor first.

Royal Jelly Yellow Soil Mask Washable

It is a wash-off type mask from Beauty Credit, one of the souvenirs I got from Batam. I've been using this product for more than two months, once or twice a week as a part of my beauty regime.

The texture of the mask is yellowish brown, clay-like, and it is slippery. It smells so strong like oil paint. I think the formula of the product was not mixed well. The dense material of the mask separated from the oil. Sometimes there are some oils dripping from tube when I try to squeeze the product onto my palm.

A washable mask with extracts of royal jelly and yellow soil to thoroughly cleanse and remove makeup and dirt. Rich mineral yellow soil and highly nutritious royal jelly controls sebum to maintain a balance of natural oils and healthy skin. Use for all skin types.

How to Use
Apply mask and wash with lukewarm water after it dries completely. The mask will dries and tighten your face after 10 – 20 minutes. The instruction on the packaging says that after rinse the mask with water, we may continue with foam cleansing or skin shower. I did it once and you know what, it made my skin become so dry. Therefore I prefer wash my face first, masking, and then rinse it off with water only without any soap or face wash. After wearing the mask, you shouldn’t wash your face again otherwise your face might gets very dry.

It is easy to remove the mask. I just wipe my face while rinsing it off with water, and my face is clean. After that, I tone my face and put moisturizer and it’s all done.

Isoflavon Essential Cotton Mask

Today is the schedule of my peeling treatment. I usually use arazyme facial gel twice a week followed with mask treatment. Two weeks ago my friend went to Batam and bought me some stuff from Beauty Credit. One of the haul is Isoflavon Essential Cotton Mask. It is sheet-type mask: a piece of tissue drenched with nutritious liquid. We put it on cleansed face and let it sits for about 15 minutes before remove it away.

The sheet size is rather too wide for my face but it could be customized easily by folding down the corners. The most troublesome thing I always hate with mask-sheet is the messy essence overflow everywhere. I put the remaining liquid into legs, arms, neck, and even I share it to my parents.

Once I put it on my face, I can smell an alcohol-like scent. I was actually interested with the "isoflavon" term, the ingredient key that I bet supposed to be inside the product. But the alcohol-like smelling is somehow makes me a bit worry.

Using this mask instantly leaves my face seems firmer, moist, and healthily glow. Are you interested with this mask? There are a lot of mask-sheet products in the market, and I have tried quiet many of them. When I use a mask sheet (in various brands), I often feel it doesn't give special result. But I can say that this Isoflavon mask does give an instant visibly result.

Red Wine Pore Control Moist Cream

After spending my The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture cream, I buy another product to replace it. I asked my friend who was going to Batam to buy me Red Wine Pore Control Moist Cream there. There is a counter of Beauty Credit in Nagoya Hill shopping center, Batam city.

The product is stored in 50ml sized jar. The container cap is very attractive. There is lovely rocking horse craving on it. The cute packaging of Korean beauty products is one of their strategies which have successfully attracted girls’ attention.

Here is the product description:
A Basic skincare line with red wine extract that contains polyphenol and tannin for elastic and resilient pores.
Intense water with red wine extracts that contain an abundant amount of Polyphenol and Tanning that tightens and refreshes skin for softer and smoother texture.

The texture of the product is like water jelly cream: leaving cool sensation on skin. It does leave a bit of residue but it does not bother me. Once I applied the cream, I usually blot the residue before continue using next products. That is effective way to prevent my face become greasy afterwards.

The scent is very nice. Smells like fresh sweet grape. My husband immediately said that he like the smell when I applied this cream on his face.

I tried using this cream before bed as night cream. Then I wake up the next morning with moist skin though I stay all night in air-conditioned room.

About the pore treatment function, after using this product, my skin pores do look tighter thus provides me better complexion appearance. But I think it is a temporary result only since there is no product can instantly shrink your pores forever in one time application.

Now I’m waiting for my Red Wine Pore Control Emulsion which I ordered from a spree few weeks ago. I used to use more than one product just to moisturize my skin. Therefore I decided to buy the emulsion as well. Going to review that later.

Elianto Miracle Multiplex BB Cream

When he traveled to Malaysia, my husband grabbed Elianto Miracle Multiplex BB Cream for me. The front label of the packaging states its function: SPF 25 PA+, Moisturizing, Oil Control, and Brightening. It is available in 3 shades (my husband can’t remember the name of each shade) and he picked me the shades #02 (Natural).

It has watery texture. So watery until it spilled out everywhere when I put it on the mattress with unclosed cap. Whereas I didn’t squeeze the tube. The good side is that it is lightweight thus gives me no heavy makeup feel.

The scent is a bit strong. It smells like lavender. But it is not a big problem for me.

The concealing effect is sheer to medium. It fails to cover heavy spot. I doubling up the layer to get better covering. But it does helps to even out the skin tone and give nice glow.

The thing I like most about this product is its natural shade. Other BB creams I tried before always give me unnatural skin tone. The shade#02 of Elianto is the most suited to me. Even if I use it double layer, I never get that “too white” look. It blends with skin tone after a couple of minutes. Even when I’m sweating, color of the BB cream does not comes off and still blends properly with my skin.

Royal Jelly Yellow Soil Foam Cleansing

I was so glad to receive a surprise from my husband who just traveled to Batam. He brought me some stuff from Beauty Credit. What a coincidence! At that moment I was indeed really curious about the brand. My first haul from Beauty Credit was Co-Enzyme Q10 Wrinkle Essence which I got by joining a spree. The essence was quiet good. That’s why I wanted to get my hands on more of its products to give it a try.

My husband was in mall when he saw a cosmetic counter named Beauty Credit. Since he really knew that I liked all of Korean products, he entered the store and finally ended up buying me three things: two pieces of Royal Jelly Yellow Soil Foam Cleansing and one Royal Jelly Yellow Soil Mask Washable. There was a promo program of buy two get three items. That’s why I get two tubes of foam cleansing.

This time I want to review the cleansing foam first. Please take a look.

Royal Jelly Yellow Soil Foam Cleansing
This foam cleansing with nutrition-rich royal jelly and yellow soil that is rich in minerals and effectively controls sebum of the skin, cleans out skin residue by covering the skin with its soft, creamy bubbles.

How to use: Apply appropriate amount and foam at the hands, and massage over the face. Rinse with tepid water. I usually squeeze about 1 cm into my palm and it is more than enough to clean my face

The texture is soft with mild pleasant fragrance which is similar to honey royal jelly. The color is light brown. I guess the color comes from the yellow soil. I tried sample of Green Tea Yellow Soil before and it also has that “soil” yellow texture. It produces lot of creamy lather when being mixed with water.

It leaves my skin feels slightly dry but the skin tone looks radiant, clean and fresh. Don’t forget to apply moisturizer afterwards to replace the moisture lost. Besides, it also helps to control sebum. My face stays oil free longer. The area around my nose is slightly oily but is in control than usual.

My overall rating for this product is 3.8 out of 5 stars

5 Combine Cereal Cleansing Cream

A year ago, I received a sample sachet of The Face Shop Brightening Rice Water Cleansing Cream and I loved it so much. The best part is when it (seems like) transformed to be real rice water when I mixed it with water. I love the pleasant scent which smells like natural rice water. Besides, it made my skin became smooth, moist and very comfortable to be touched.

Since the first experiment with cleansing cream was so successful, so I tempted to buy one for myself. After pondering a lot, my choice fell to 5 Combine Cereal Cleansing Cream.

I know that most of the people may use cream cleanser as her first step cleansing. But I personally like to use it as second step. I used to take cleansing milk to remove my makeup first then continue with cleansing cream or foamy cleanser. This is how I ensure myself that I have cleansed my face properly.

Baviphat Acerola Pure Deep Cleansing Cream

It’s been so long since I wrote something here. I had many things at work to be done and it all really took my time. I have bought some beauty stuff during my writing absence. And now I’m a bit confused about what should be told in advance. I think I’m going to review the Baviphat Acerola Pure Deep Cleansing Cream first.

After I finished 5 Combined Cereal Cleansing Cream by The Face Shop, I started to order another product to replace it. I read an article which says that we should wash our face with mild cleanser in the morning so that it will not wipe out face’s natural moisture. One of mild cleanser type which is recommended in that article was cleansing cream.

To be honest, I’m not a kind of person who is loyal to one product only, unless it really gives me something amazing result. That’s why, instead of bought the same brand, I searched for another brand to try. Finally, because of the cute packaging of Baviphat and the good prices, I decided to pick one of it.

This product is intended to clear skin deep down to the pores and to remove excess oil. It is made from extracts of acerola cherry fruit that brightens dull skin, olive fruit extract and grape seeds which are rich in nutrients, making the skin smooth and healthy moist

Instruction
Rub over the face with a light massage motion, remove the traces with facial tissue or soft cotton (but in my case, I usually use warm water).

I personally feel that this product is easier to be rinsed than TFS cleansing cream which is thicker and oilier. Once I use this, my skin feels clean and moist.

Bonacure Moisture Kick Shampoo

After read so many girls opinion about some recommended shampoos, I decided to try Bonacure shampoo from schwarzkopf. It is quiet difficult to get it since it is usually not available in stores. But finally I managed to order it from an online shop.

As the beginning, I ordered Bonacure Moisture Kick which is targeted for dry, naturally curly or permed hair (though my hair type is actually normal to oily). It treats hair with:

Pro-Vitamin B-3 provides an excellent source of nutrients
Pro-Vitamin B-5 provides moisture
Amino acid penetrates & repair inner hair structure
Milk Q Protein provides vital moisture & nutrition

The scent is very good thus gives relaxing experience of shampooing.

It doesn't lather well. I need to pour a bit much to ensure that I wash all part of my hair properly.

The Result

It really seals moisture in hair strands. I do notice that my hair look more shiny and volumized after using it. Besides, it makes my hair strand become less tangle. I was riding motorcycle with my father for about 20 minute without using helmet. But my hair kept tangle free though it was blown by hard wind during the trip.

I was searching for a suitable facial wash-off mask at that moment. Therefore I decided to buy it on my next shopping.

After waited for about one month, I finally received my mask. It comes in a plastic pot. The texture is thick and granules. It does smell like brown sugar, and felt warm once I put it on my face.

How to use the product is kind of tricky. The sugar grains may feel harsh if you massage it on dry skin surface. Therefore ensure your skin is still damp when you use it. The grains will slowly melt by heat of your finger's skin. You may also apply it on wet face. It will be gentler since it will melt easier. Apply on cleansed face and let sit for 10 minutes before rub it softly in circular motion.
Not only my face, I used to rub my lips as well. And sometimes I swallow it accidentally. Guess what, it does taste sweet like sugar.

I usually do it during bath time. Applying the mask inside bath room makes the sugar grains melt easily hence it won't hurt the skin. But when I do it in my bedroom, it hurts due to the air conditioning that makes my room cold that makes it more difficult for the sugar granules to melt off.

After rinse it off with water, I tone my skin and apply moisturizer. The beads exfoliate pretty well. It leaves my skin feeling clean but usually also gets oilier few hours later after I use this product.
Other result that I can report is that this really helps to fade my acne scars thus improve my complexion. But as usual, I tend to use a product that I like too frequent. No wonder my skin gets red a bit.

Tea Tree Emulsion

Again, my sister bought some Korean beauty stuffs which means new toys for me lol. She bought quiet many things: emulsion, bb cream, hair mist, cleansing foam. Well, her shopping passion seems greater than mine. I'm going to review them one by one. And now it's time for Skin Food Tea Tree emulsion. To be honest I was kind of skeptical with this product. I thought all tea tree product will end up with dried skin. But I'm totally wrong.

Instruction:
Apply evenly after essence and gently tap to absorb.

Description:
Emulsion for acne troubled skin with tea tree oil. Effectively controls oil to prevent acne.

The product comes in cute glass bottle of 160ml. I heard that glass packaging is good to keep natural ingredients. The texture is milky white-greenish, lotion-like but more watery which making it easy to pour out of the glass bottle. It spreads and absorbs easily on my skin. Leaving skin feels moist and comfort. Smells tea tree typical but is not overpowering.

It claims to sooth troubled and oily skin with its tea tree oil and willow herb extract that control excess sebum.

The best thing of it is: it keeps the skin oil free longer yet moisturizes properly. When I remove my makeup in the end of the day, my skin doesn't feel dehydrated either. This is very nice to be used as base before bb cream and even for night use.

To be compared with Peach Sake emulsion that I owned, it is much better. It doesn't break me out while the peach sake always end me up with whitehead. The oil control and hydrating properties of tea tree is also better than peach sake.

As per my sister's comment, the tea tree emulsion gives soothing effect to her skin and does reduce the pain and redness of acne. But seems like it does nothing on size of acne.

The Skin Food Seaweed Cleansing Foam

It was my sister who bought Seaweed Cleansing Foam. She chose it simply because her skin type is oily combination, and it matches the product description. So, without further delay, let's see the review.

Product Description
A deep cleanser that gently removes make up with a refreshing feeling. It contains tea tree extract, a natural antibacterial agent and AHA to effectively exfoliate dead skin cells. This refreshing cleansing foam for oily and combination skin removes makeup residue with its rich foam, while cleansing deep down to pores.

It comes in very simple packaging: stored in big tube with labels in the front and back side. I was worry if the label will easily ripped since it looks like being made by recycled paper. But in the fact it is plastic label that looks like recycled paper.

The texture itself is blue-pale colored, creamy and soft. It lathers well. You only need a very tiny size to create much lather. It does have smell, but very mild hence nothing relaxing experience I can get.

Instruction
Apply desired amount and gently rub in circular motion. Wipe off with tissue or wash off with lukewarm water.

Upon application, my skin looks matte, fresh, and radiant. The pores look cleaner than usual. I think it does cleanse deeply down to pores and get rid the dead skin cells.

Compared to Mung Bean Facial Foam, it purifies the pores better. But, whenever I use mung bean foam, I always feel it calms down my face and reduce the bumps or early acne I get during my busy day in the office, while I don’t/less get it with by the Seaweed foam.

As per my sister’s comment that has been using it continuously for about one month, she said that the product helps her to stay oil free longer. But her skin becomes slight dryer accordingly. Besides, she feels that this product supports acne healing. The acne dries up faster than usual.

Vitamin E Moisture Cream

Finally, after tried the toner and facial wash from The Body Shop Vitamin E series, I was curious to see how the cream runs as well.

At the beginning, I was pondering to choose since The Vitamin E series has some variants of facial cream including: Intense Moisture Cream, Moisture Cream, Illuminating Moisture cream, and Nourishing Night Cream. It’s kind of hard since I don’t know exactly what each of them functioned for. I am looking for a moisturizer which is lightweight, moistens properly and doesn’t leave greasy look. Finally I took the Moisture Cream which is claimed to be the best seller. The best seller label should be okay to guarantee that it works well.

It is stored in pot with screw top lid. Inside the pot is pink cream that has a classic smell. The texture is creamy yet lightweight which is suitable for me. The cream spreads easily into the skin and takes a while before it absorbs thoroughly, leaving skin moist and fresh. The cream doesn’t leave greasy residue nor feels sticky.

Beside of vitamin E that protects the skin’s future, it also contains Lanolin, natural moisturizer with powerful emollient and Sorbitol which helps skin to retain moisture.

The best is that it doesn’t make my face become oily and doesn't cause any breakouts. The moisturizing effect lasts quiet long.

I think I will repurchase this cream since I am quiet satisfied with its moisturizing performance. Besides, after some times I have felt in love with the refreshing scent of Vitamin E series of TBS.

Lime Secret Shine Base

Hi all, I’m still in chapter of samples stories. When I purchase products, I often get some samples attached. It is fun to get those samples. I can feel how the product runs before buy the original size. Surely I’m eager to share the review to all of you. But we all know, dealing with samples means we can not observe how the product goes in long term. This also means the review is only ‘at-a-glance’ review. Anyway, just check it out and enjoy!

Now, I’m going to share my experience in trying sample of The Skin Food’s Lime Secret Shine Base. It is a makeup base which is lightweight and oil free. It is intended to control oil but makes your face looks dewy and radiant.

Oil free double reflects natural pearl powder to make skin smooth and slim looking with an irresistible glow.

Use: After basic skin care, shake the bottle freely then apply evenly throughout the whole face.
Content: 30g

Recommended for dull complexion.

The texture is pearl-pinkish. No greasy at all and comfortable. Just feels like wear nothing. When I accidentally apply too much, it still looks natural.

Once applied, it gives velvet touch sensation on my skin. The glow, which is very subtle, leaves my skin looks luminous and dewy with its faint shimmers. Besides, it also evens out skin tone: dims out the redness and pores. If you already have nice complexion with rare scar, you may only use this and skip foundation. I’m not quiet sure but I feel like using this a bit helps to control oil and keep the BB cream stays good longer.

Beside of the Lime Secret, I also got a sample sachet of Baviphat Island Girls BB Primer Fix. This one is BB Primer which is intended to be used after moisturizer and before BB cream. Both of them seem to have similar function right? So, I did a comparison between them. One applied on left cheek, while the other on right cheek. According to the observation, I found appearance of area that I applied Baviphat is slight better than area I applied Lime Secret. Here’s what I found:

Pores look a bit more shrink on the Baviphat’s area
Tone looks more pinkish and dewier on Lime Secret’s area

VOV Daily Fresh Mini Pack Multi Vita Egg Peel Off Pack

Another cute mini pack of VOV that I tried: Multi Vita Egg Peel off Pack. This is a pretty standard peel-off typed pack. The texture is thick, sticky, and the color is white muddy. It smells like alcohol which is a bit offensive. It seems neither harsh nor drying.

Instruction
After cleanse the face, apply a sheer layer to your face. Avoid area around eyes, eyebrows, and hairline where it will be hard to remove the mask. Sit and allow it to dry. Finally, lift up a corner under your chin and peel off lightly in an upward motion. Splash your face with cool water to remove any lingering residue.

It comes in unique sachet packaging which is enough for two uses. Actually it’s a bit messy to take out the mask from its sachet. It may be easier if the product is stored in a tube or in a bottle with a pump. Anyway, the packaging looks so cute and girly. Besides, this could be much handier if you are traveling somewhere.

To be honest, I’m not too keen on peel-off mask. The peeling off experience is fun, but I usually don’t see much difference or improvement. In terms of this product, I feel that my pores look shrink and cleaner. Besides, for a short while after I use, my face feels slightly softer. Overall, it's just an okay mask for me.

The texture is milky white and is more like a gel based lotion. It spreads easily and absorbs promptly but leaves a moist film residue which feels a bit sticky. Once applied, my skin instantly feels moist. The moisturizing feeling lasts until I wake up the next morning. It does has fragrance but very mild.

The only result I got was immediate moisturizing effect that lasts until the next day. No other effect such as suppleness, firming, etc. For me, it’s all about moisturizing.

Avocado Rich Cream

After some time, I realized that my skin type is oily combination that sometimes turns drier, being influenced by some reasons such as beauty routine, hormones, weather, medication, etc. So, finally I bought Avocado Rich Cream from The Skin Food, aimed at treating my skin whenever it feels dry.

Why I chose the Avocado? Actually I had always been curious about the goodness of avocado. I heard that it is effective in preventing aging and providing elasticity to skin. But since I formerly assumed that my skin is oily and acne prone, I was afraid it would make me breakout. Later, after I realized that my skin went drier, I thought that it was the time to give the avocado a try.

The Avocado line of The Skin Food is dedicated to treat problems such dehydration, roughness, and wrinkles. This nourishing cream with vitamin A, D and protein-rich avocado oil, provides oil and moisture to skin and keep skin apt to be dry moist.

Instruction
Apply to cleansed and toned face while giving light massage. Then leave it about 3 minutes before absorbed thoroughly.

This is a cream based moisturizer with thick and rich texture. It has faint smell of avocado. The cream might be too rich to be used at morning. But I usually do a trick so that I still can use it as day cream without being too greasy. After tone my skin, I apply a very little of the cream and leave it for 5 until 10 minutes. After that, I apply other lighter moisturizer (preferably lotion or gel type). I usually use Lettuce Cucumber Water Jelly Cream or Skin MD Shielding Lotion. The second layer will reduce the greasy film left by the avocado rich cream.

Beside of using it as moisturizer, I also like to use the product as if it is a facial mask. After cleanse the face, I wrap my face using warm dry towel for a while. Then, apply thick layer of avocado cream. Wrap the face again with the warm towel for 5 minutes. Finally, rinse it off with lukewarm water.

Aside from the shiny looking and greasy feeling I get on my face, I like this product because my acne prone skin does not react to it. I recommend it to people with extremely dry skin.

Vitamin E Gentle Facial Wash

My face skin suddenly turned dry several months ago. This happened as a result of too often being exposed by air conditioning and lack of hydration. After a while I was so lazy to treat my face by applying mask. I depended only to daily moisturizer and peeling. As the result, my face became so dry.

Realizing that I started getting itchy rash, I went to shop to find new product which is more hydrating. Then the Vitamin E line of The Body Shop had caught my attention. I bought the toner and facial wash. I have written my review on the toner formerly, now I will share my opinion about the facial wash as well.

A gentle facial wash that lathers on the skin to leave it feeling clean, soft and refreshed.

The consistency is creamy. I find that it doesn’t lather well if I use it while my skin is dirty or covered by makeup, but will if my face is cleaner. Therefore I prefer cleanse the makeup first with cleansing milk before wash it with this product. It does cleanse and leaves my skin feeling slick and moisturized instead of squeaky.

It smells exactly the same as the toner: typical TBS Vitamin E fragrance, which smells like classic rose.
It’s not stripping nor making me break out so I guess this facial wash is gentle enough for my skin.

To see how it works, I tried to wash my face using this product without initially removing my makeup (I used BB cream and loose powder). Surprisingly it cleaned up my face pretty well. I deliberately apply cleansing milk afterward just to check whether it surely cleansed properly or not, and I found that it does a good job of cleansing the makeup from my face. I got no traces of makeup residue on my cotton pad. But still, I prefer double cleansing.

I also intentionally tried not to apply toner after using this product to check how the product moisturizes the skin. My face didn’t feel tight. But after ten minutes, my face felt a little bit itchy as a sign that my skin dehydrated.

Vitamin E Hydrating Toner

Some people may get confused about should we insert toner in our daily skin regimen or not. But for me, toner is a must. Otherwise I will get my skin feels tight and dry afterward. I ever tried not to apply skin toner after washing my face. But about ten minutes later, my face felt itchy accordingly.

People say that toner helps to remove residual dirt and balances the PH of the skin. I honestly don’t know if it balances the skin’s PH or not, but it’s indeed remove traces of dirt, makeup, and cleanser residue. I can actually see those residual traces on the cotton pad after use I it.

I currently use The Body Shop Vitamin E Hydrating toner. I bought this product after read an article which told that if your skin is oily and acne prone, then type of toner that is recommended for you is one which contains antioxidant. Actually I was pondering between Paula Choice’s and The Body Shop’s. But finally I bought The Body Shop’s since PC’s is far more expensive.

Remove the last traces of cleanser, dirt and make-up while softening your skin with a gentle, conditioning facial toner.

How it works

Vitamin E is a natural antioxidant that moisturizes and helps to protect against premature aging and environmental aggressors by neutralizing free radicals.

Contains no added color or dyes, so it is suitable for sensitive skin.

The texture is a bit thick and isn’t properly soaked on cotton pad unless you drop a bit plenty. This toner has typical fragrance of The Body Shop Vitamin E range: something ‘oldies’ smelling. I was disturbed with the smell at the beginning, but finally I get used of it.

Actually I was worried if it makes my skin looks greasy or breaking out after using it because of term ‘hydrating’. But it is not! This product is comfortable enough to be used. My skin doesn’t feel greasy either. It swipe away tightness and makes my skin lightly moisturized.

Please note that I use only the toner and facial wash of Vitamin E range. For moisturizer, I use another product from The Skin Food and fortunately it doesn’t make my skin looking oily. I intentionally don’t use the Vitamin E’s moisturizer for I’m afraid I may end up breaking out with pimples (I bet the moisturizer is quiet creamy).

Vitamin E is known to help fight the signs of aging. Its antioxidant protects skin from free radical damage. I choose this product is also because I want to start slow down aging. I have been using a half of a bottle now. If you ask me, what improvement have I got, I would definitely get confused. This toner doesn't leave my skin looking oily and doesn’t cause breakout either, so it is okay for me. I haven’t got wrinkle, so I can’t say much about how it fights aging. The effect is might be slowly seen.

If you search over the internet, you will find many reviews about this product. Some may say this is good, and others may not. But I think I will repurchase this toner until I find another more interesting target.

Etude Magic Enzyme Pack Peeling

This is a unique item from Etude House: Enzyme Pack Peeling. It is a pack (mask) and peeling included in one product. Actually I was going to buy Magic Bubble Peeling, another peeling product from Etude. But when I visited the store, the sales advisor told me that the item has been discontinued, and then she showed me the Enzyme Pack Peeling.

Magic Enzyme Pack Peeling

How to Use:
Dispense and apply solution to face. Allow product to absorb into skin by gently patting and leave on. After solution has completely dried, gently rub off with hands. Rinse excess off with warm water.

The texture is milky white, smells fresh like yogurt, and applies like emulsion. It will dry within few minutes and forms a thin film on your skin. It dries but doesn’t tighten up the skin. It doesn’t sting me as well. While other peeling product is usually to be used after cleansing, this solution is to be used before washing face.

The unique side of this product is: to remove the pack, we shouldn’t rinse it off with water, but rub our hands over the skin. While rubbing, we can get small pieces of the product start come off. The remaining pieces of products may stick into hair locks. So we better use it before washing hair to clean the pack residual which sticks into hair as well.

Packaging
It comes in heavy glass bottle that is just like other products from Korea: cute and girly. I always glad to see those cuties on my beauty shelf. Unfortunately the bottle spout isn’t too user friendly. I have to shake the bottle several times to get enough for my whole face.

My complexion looks clear and more radiant every time I use this product. It is good enough to remove dead skin cells. Even my nose, my face part which usually tends to easily get blackhead, looks clear and smooth. But for blackhead that is deeply embedded, I don’t think this solution could help to remove it.

I’ve been using the product for more than two months. So far the effects are:

It keeps my skin free from blackhead
My acne scars are a bit reduced
Skin becomes smoother after usage, but the effect isn’t long lasting

My skin looked reddish due to scrub product that I used several months ago. Therefore I had to stop using any peeling or scrubbing product to cure the reddish. But this product is gentle and doesn’t irritate my skin. Now I can do peeling treatment without having my skin gets red.

The Skin Food Hop Beer Hair Wash

A girl in female forum I join told me that using cheap and inexpensive shampoo may cause the hair is contaminated by silicone. Silicone (known as dimethicone) is added to give smooth appearance. Regular shampoo usually can’t fully wash the hair to rid the buildup of hair products that can remain in our hair. Buildup may also occur from conditioners, hair spray, hair gel, chlorine, and other styling products. As the result, hair may look dull after a while. Therefore, we need to sometimes wash our hair with deep cleansing shampoo to get rid those impurities.

I got three samples sachet of Hop Beer Hair Wash from The Skin Food as gift of my purchase. It is shampoo which is enriched with beer extracts, keratin protein, rosemary extracts to thoroughly cleanse scalp, nourish hair, strengthening hair, and provide intensive treatment to damaged hair.

The product texture is sheer, light-brown colored, and has strong weird scent. It smells like herbal or traditional medicine, nice but a bit weird. Some people may dislike the fragrance, but for me, it makes my washing time become fun. The aroma is pleasant and relaxing (at least for myself :p). It foams quiet much unless you pour a very few amount that is not enough for your whole hair.

As per the description, the product claims to cleanse hair by removing the build-up of hair products. Removing these impurities will allow hair treatment and styling products to work more effectively.

I personally don’t really aware whether it works to remove hair impurities or not, but my hair locks indeed feels lighter, more bouncy, clean, and actually a bit dry when I use the product. Besides, it also makes my hair become softer and more manageable. I personally don’t get any complaint such as hair loss or anything else while using this product.

The smell could be nice for some people, but could be very disturbing for the others since it is quiet intense. I still smell the aroma at the next day, and since I like it, it’s a pleasant thing for me. But for them who don’t like traditional medicine smelling, this could be annoying.

That’s all that I can share. Unfortunately I only got few samples, so actually it’s hard to say if it will be good for long term use or not.
I do a little search and find that copper peptide is indeed known to treat hair scalp and prevent hair loss. Unfortunately I don’t buy the full size product so I can’t test whether it works or not.

The Skinfood Mushroom Multi Care BB Cream

After having the Aloe BB Cream, I bought the other variant of The Skin Food: Mushroom Multi Care BB Cream which offers three functions: whitening, anti-aging, and sun block.

This is the product description
Functions as a make-up and skin-care in one. Acts as a foundation that covers blemishes and evens out skin tone. BB Creams are known to increase skin regeneration. Has Whitening, Sun Protection and Anti-Aging properties!

Size 50ml

The product comes in squeeze tube with cute label. It has runnier consistency compared to Aloe BB Cream. But for me, the texture is not easily blended hence I still need to apply moisturizer. I can see dry patches if I use it without moisturizer. It also has nice smelling like raw herbal.

I take shade #1 which is brighter than #2. The color appearance looks pinkish but ashy compared to Aloe BB Cream which is also pinkish but looks more radiant. The product helps to even out the tone but unfortunately doesn’t work well to hide the pores.

I have been using this product for several months. So far it doesn’t build problem with my skin as long as I use it in a proper way: don’t leave the skin with BB cream longer than ten hours, always cleanse the face properly after usage, and never go bed with BB cream on my face.

Due to the poor coverage, I mostly use the product as base layer before use Feverlet HD. As per my review, I said that I broke out using Feverlet HD though it gives a very nice appearance. Applying Mushroom BB cream under Feverlet HD helps me to avoid breakout. Besides, the fair shade #1 of the Mushroom BB cream is suitable enough to be combined with Feverlet which also has light shade.

I find that the oil control is less than Aloe. But if I use it together with Feverlet HD, the oil control is better. Upon the application, my skin used to be dewy at the first two hours. Then, it changes to be much well after I blot. The appearance looks nice and natural. But it goes to be shiny after six hours. The oil control is worse and gives me greasy looking if I use it alone without Feverlet HD.

I’m actually not satisfied with its coverage. But the SPF and PA+ in it is a good reason for keep using it. Beside, it doesn’t give me any breakout. Based on my experience, BB creams from The Skin Food is friendly for skin. It doesn’t leads to acne or blackhead as long as I use it in proper way.

Other features in it are to whiten the skin and acts as anti-aging. Though I have been using it for several months, I can’t say anything to prove that it works or not. But actually I don’t really care with the product claims. As long as it doesn’t lead to breakout, it’s fine by me.

The Skin Food Lettuce & Cucumber Water Jelly Cream

I have been using The Skin Food Lettuce & Cucumber Water Jelly Cream for about one month. So I think this is the time to review it!
My skin type is oily combination. But it tends to dry lately, especially after I have air condition in my bedroom. Therefore I need a more hydrating moisturizer which will not lead me to breakout.

Actually I already fell in love with Skin MD Shielding Lotion which I got for free (The Skin MD’s representative asked me to write a review about it). Though it can be used for body, face, and hand, I use Skin MD mostly for my face and it was nice. It is hydrating, not greasy, feels light, and the best thing, it doesn’t breakout. But it’s hard to get it again. It is not being sold in my country. I tried to find it in Singapore, but the price is quiet expensive. So I decided to try another product. And finally I came to the Lettuce & Cucumber line from The Skin Food.

I was pondering between the emulsion and the water jelly cream. Finally I chose the Water Jelly Cream since I wanted to ensure that my skin hydrated well.

This is the description of the product:
A refreshing, moisturizing gel cream that contains lettuce and cucumber extracts. It provides prolonged hydration to skin in the summer or in air condition room, keeping it clear.

I think the name is very suitable to describe the product texture: it is indeed creamy and jelly, light and fresh as water. The ‘cream’ itself is greenish milky white. I currently use it as my day moisturizer before applying BB cream. It helps to provide hydration to my skin without having my face gets oily and greasy in the middle of the day.

I use it after cleanse and tone my skin. Apply generous amount on face, rub softly, and gently press the palm of my hand for absorbs better. Upon application, there is fresh and comfort feeling. I don’t notice any disturbing fragrance.
This product is good for me. As I said before, it hydrates without bring on more pimples. It is indeed refreshing and not sticky at all.

The complete line of Lettuce & Cucumber Water include: Lettuce Cucumber Massage, Emulsion, Matte Finish Gel, Mild Pact, Toner, Water Drop Essence, Water Essence Mask Sheet, Water Jelly Cream, Water Jelly Essence, Water Mist, Watery Base, and Watery Foundation.

I am interested to have the essence too. It’s confusing because they have the ‘Water Drop Essence’, ‘Water Essence’ (without ‘drop’ in it), and ‘Water Jelly Essence’. It will be hard to decide between three of them.

Buckwheat Loose Powder

I used to set my BB cream with Palgantong Theatrical loose powder. Actually I am quiet satisfied with it. It gives me radiant look and good oil control. But the mini size of the product (10g) made me finished it quickly. I needed to order more and more in a rather short period. Then, I decided to look for another product which has good quality, bigger content, and (maybe) cheaper price. Reading some reviews of girls in female forum, I bought Buckwheat Loose Powder from The Skin Food.

Here is the product description: This loose powder with its soft, fine particles offers a bloomingly radiant, flawless finish. Buckwheat oil creates incredibly transparent, shine-free skin tone, with silky-smooth texture.

This soft silky powder contains buckwheat oil that leaves skin natural and glowing.

It comes in nice packaging with sponge included. Though I’ve known that the product size is 23g but I was surprised finding the packaging is quiet bulky. The powder itself is fairly fine and soft. The shade I pick is #23 (Natural Beige). It creates natural look and dewy finish.

For me, the coverage of this product is medium and not as good as Palgantong does. Just like what it claims, it doesn’t change my natural contours. The oil control is also medium. My face starts oily after few hours and I get powder stains when I blot or swipe my face with tissue. So I have to say that the powder’s lasting power is medium. One thing that a bit disturbs me is the scented powder which is quiet strong.

Overall, I’d say that this product is better than Dodo Club Fairy Skin Powder, but under Palgantong Theatrical Powder. But still, the review is subjective to each individual. Each person has different skin tone thus may get different results.

The Body Shop Aloe Calming Toner

Due to recommendation of a friend, I bought The Body Shop Aloe Calming Toner. She told me that this toner is alcohol free and will feel like wear nothing on the face, so light. Actually this is proposed for sensitive skin, while my skin is oily. But I think it will be Okay so I decided to buy it.

Aloe Vera is usually used in products for sensitive skin. The property of Aloe Vera which is calming, gentle, hydrating, and soothing is less irritating on skin.

Ingredients

Another The Body Shop toner that I have tried is Seaweed Clarifying Toner. Therefore my review will a little bit refers to what I feel about Seaweed toner, compared to Aloe toner.

The way to use it is similar with other kind of toners: after cleansing, pour few drops on cotton, then swipe over the face. Just like what my friend said, the product indeed feels very light. It doesn’t sting, and smells soft, while Seaweed toner’s scent is stronger.

In addition, I always find my face looks clean and the complexion is clearer after use the product. Besides, my skin doesn’t feel tight after use.

But the ability to remove grime traces which is not gone by the previous cleanser is not as good as the Seaweed Toner does. I always found cleanser traces and grime on my cotton pad when I used Seaweed toner. But I don’t get this kind of thing with Aloe toner.
This product gives me sticky feeling and greasiness in the hot weather if I use other products immediately after toning before wait the toner dries first. Thus I will find my makeup dissolves in the hot weather because of un-dried well toner. But it will not happen if I let the toner dries well before applying next products.

Other things that make me quiet happy is because this toner is fragrance free, preservatives free, and alcohol free, as per explanation label on the back side of the bottle. I think this is a healthy face toner.

I received some samples of moistfull collagen cream. It is a variant of Moistfull Collagen line from Etude House. Complete range of this line includes eye cream, mask, foundation, cream, toner, essence; all of the products in this line are dedicated for dry skin types.

The Moistfull Collagen Cream is a great moisturizing and tightening cream for dry skin. It improves complexion look and feel with concentrated Baobab Tree extract and Collagen formula. It is rich and hydrating without being heavy and oily to the touch.

I am actually not a fan of creamy textured product. But this one is lightweight, moist, feels comfortable enough, and doesn’t leave sticky film.

I tried to use another base cream under this product and the result was bad. I got some whiteheads. So I recommend you not to use this product together with other products like sunscreen, etc. This cream is quiet rich already.

I had a nice try out experience with this product, but I don’t think that I will purchase the full size since it’s genuinely not for oily skin.

Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque

This is another good mask for oily skin: Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque. This works properly in controlling extra oil on your face. Besides, it gives you refreshing mint scent when you are smearing the mask on. After reading many good raves on this classic masque, I decided to buy one for myself.

Queen Helene seems like a good brand in US. It claims to contain vegetarian ingredients only, no parabens, Sodium Lauryl/Laureth Sulfates, Mineral Oil, Lanolin or petrolatum.

This is an original natural home treatment which is developed by a dermatologist that will actually dry up acne pimples, rinse away blackheads and even help shrink enlarged pores.

It comes in big fat tube. The masque’s texture is thick, green, and looks as clay mud type mask. It is easy to spread and leaves cool feeling. Besides, the fresh mint smelling is really awake. As other clay mud facial mask, I apply it to my face, leave for 15 minutes to dry and then rinsed away the residue with warm water. The paste tightens up my face as it dries. It smells like toothpaste and feels cool.

Ensure to properly cleanse the face before put the masque on so that it can work properly to pull out the embedded impurities, not the grime layer on your skin.

I love to use it. It does a good job for making my skin feels smooth, clean, comfortable, and my complexion looks clearer. I did experience redness once. I bet it was caused by my too diligent usage. At the first days, I used it almost everyday. Now I adjust my routine to fewer days per week and everything goes better. I find my face goes a bit dryer than it used to. Be sure to apply moisturizer afterwards.

In case of heavy acne, I tried to apply the masque on the bumps and leave it over night. I heard that it works to some girls, but in my case, I find nothing. The acne doesn’t turn smaller or anything else.

I often wonder whether I should tone my face before applying the masque or not. I used to apply toner at my last step of cleansing regime to ensure that I have cleansed the residue thoroughly. Thus I think that toning before applying masque can be skipped. What do you think about it?

Now, telling you my experience with Paula Choice Skin Balancing Cleanser. One of the products recommended for my oily and acne prone skin. I got the sample. It contains 1.77 ml and lasted for approximately a week.

Directions: Splash the face and eyes generously with tepid to slightly warm water. Spread a nickel-sized amount of cleanser over your fingers and apply it to your face and eyes with vigorous but gentle circular motions. Rinse well. Gently pat dry with a clean towel.

The product texture is white, creamy, and smells like acid.

I intentionally didn’t do any cleansing process at all. I left my face as it was after I arrived home when it’s still covered with BB cream and loose powder. I splashed warm water, squeezed a small amount of the cleanser, and massaged it with circular motion. It dissolved the grime and makeup easily. Finally I rinse off the residue with warm water.
The result was smooth, moist, and clean face. No squeaky or tight feeling. It gave me dewy look after cleansing.
I got no problem with the cleanser, but during my search, I found some reviews state that they got the cleanser’s texture turns to be grainy and harsh after some time.

In my personal opinion, Paula Choice is a brand which may not give us instant result. We need to stick in there for some moment before seeing objectively what it does to our skin.

Paula Choice Skin Balancing Carbon Mask

I ordered some samples from Paula Choice. I sent them email writing about my skin type and my concern in curing acne. The customer service replied my mail and gave me complete explanation about what treatment type should I take accordingly. She said that as a new customer, I might ask for three samples. One of it is the Skin Balancing Carbon Mask which is suitable for Normal to Oily/Combination Skin.

Here I’d like to give my review on Carbon Mask. But before I go there, I want to share about the Paula Choice’s way in treating the customer. I dropped them e-mail and they replied me by giving me a form to be filled. They also listed some products which may suitable for my skin type. They did assist me in finding the right products. I actually sent them two emails before, but they didn’t replied. I think it’s because I only said that I want to try their product without telling them about describing my skin condition. But my latest email with more complete explanation was replied. This was my first experience with local cyber company which implements such good communication with their customers.

Now, let’s back to the Carbon Mask review. It functions to:

The instruction says to apply thick layer on the skin, so I smeared a thick layer and my sachet was empty. The sample size’s content was enough for one application only.

The mask doesn’t make my skin feel tight. But, it stings my skin instead. I bet it’s a sign that the formula was working. It felt a bit uncomfortable but the stingy feeling subsided after about five to ten minutes.
The mask texture is thick enough and mud-like. Its color is grey. I spread the mask on my whole face easily. It took a while before the mask dried thoroughly. Then I rinse it off with warm water.

The immediate result is clear looking and smooth skin surface. And maybe more oil control. I said “maybe” because I was using another clay-mud mask on those days: Queen Helene Mint Julep and this one also helps to control the extra oil. Hence I couldn’t objectively see if Paula Choice was also doing something on my excess sebum or not.

Shiseido Black Mask

I bought some pieces of Shiseido black mask to be re-sold. Actually peel-off type mask is not my favorite, but I was curious to try this one since I heard many good reviews about it.

This mud-like mask promises to remove blackheads in just 30 minutes. It is even proclaimed as a very popular blackhead remover mask! Each pack contains 12g and can be used for 3-4 times if you use for nose area only. But you still can apply for the whole face.

INSTRUCTIONS
Take some on finger and spread over the skin. Avoid the area around the eyes, eyebrows, hairline and lips. Wait it to dry. After the film has dried, peel it off from the outer edges toward the center. Wash your face with warm water to remove the remainder of the mask.

The mask is gel-like, black, thick, and sticky. I applied a thick layer on my face using my fingers. It was rather hard to take the mask out from its sachet since it was messy everywhere. The mask was also dried promptly thus I need to be hurry to apply it on my face otherwise it would dry soon.

It took a while before the mask dried thoroughly. The last part which dried was the area around my cheek. I touched the dried mask surface and it felt rough. I peeled it off starting from jaw line with upper ward motion. I must admit that it was very painful and very hard to peel the mask off. Be sure to avoid hairy area such as eyebrow since it might pull the hair off. But fortunately my skin was not irritated or became red. and the results are ..

The peeling residue looks like shreds of black thin paper. I can find few blackheads scattered among the film residue. It gave me nice result so far, but I don’t know whether it is good for skin or not since it felt hurt to be removed. I prefer VOV pure black charcoal instead. It pulled the blackheads off my face successfully without painful feeling when I removed the dried film.

Now, sharing you my personal review
The lotion is stored in simple plastic bottle with red lid to seal and keep it hygienic. The texture is white, sheer, lightweight, and scentless. Well, it still has mild scent, but I notice that it comes from the ingredients’ natural odor.

I mostly apply the lotion on my face. I usually pump two drops to cover my whole face. It feels so light, absorbs easily, and applies evenly. Plus, it leaves no sticky or greasy residue behind.

I have been using the lotion as my moisturizer for about two weeks and the result is so amazing! I find my skin become visibly softer, elastic, and I get fewer breakouts! I used to get few bumps along my jaw line after a whole day activity. My face was also so sticky and oily in the afternoon and evening. I now recognize that the problems come from the wrong moisturizer which leads me to sticky and greasy face instead of keep the skin hydrated. But using the Shielding Lotion which seals natural moisture inside my skin, my face appears better. Even the BB cream sits on perfectly. I find no dry patches, feels so light, and the best is my skin becomes supple and I rarely find breakout.

I still get the area around my nose and cheek become oily after some hours, but the oil disappears after I use blotting sheet and it doesn’t feel sticky. Besides, wrinkles under my eyes have been reduced. I’m so in love with this lotion and I’m sure I will see more improvements soon.

Brightening Rice Water Cleansing Cream

One of the latest beauty stuff that successfully steals my attention is Brightening Rice Water Cleansing Cream from The Face Shop. My skin type is oily to combination. So I usually struggle to control the excessive oil on my face. But after putting many treatments to control the oil, occasionally I feel my skin becomes dryer. That’s why I sometimes feel that using cleansing cream is needed.

Cleansing cream is a kind of cleanser agent which is supposed to normal to dry skin type. All you need to do is to massage the cleansing cream onto the face. The key ingredient contained in cleansing cream is oil so it is able to lift away makeup residues without drying the skin.

I have heard that rice water is good for beauty skin. Many girls use rice water for washing or splashing their faces. It is known for its benefit in tightening the skin and rejuvenates skin cells. Rice water contains various nutrients that results in fairer skin complexion.

Concept
A moisturizing and brightening cleansing line with rice water and Moringa oil. Moringa oil known as 'purifying tree' in India has very strong detoxifying quality. People used to put grinded Moringa plant in the polluted river water to detoxify.

Description
Its innovative texture makes rolling & handling so easy! Cleansing residue does not stick to the skin and is removed effortlessly with tissue.

My trial
Though it doesn’t create lather at all, but I think it cleanse the grime properly. Of course I make it as second cleanser (I take cleansing milk as first step cleanser). Another cleansing cream I tried is Himalaya Gentle Face Wash Cream which has stronger scent. The Rice Water leaves my skin supple and moist. It’s a way better than the Himalaya’s.

The texture is more similar to lotion than cream. Once being applied to my damp skin, the product turns to be rice water: white and muddy. Personally I really love the scent which is really alike with original rice water. Instead of removing the residue with tissue, I rinse it off with warm water.

The product doesn’t sting or make me experience a surge in whiteheads. Conversely, my face feels moist and supple to touch, my complexion become clearer. Consequently my face becomes moister and my BB cream sits on better on my skin. I don’t get dry patch at the next hours. This is definitely going to be the next item on my wish list.

The latest mask sheet that I tried was the Hokkaido Lover Mask L-Ascorbic Acid Whitening. Buying unintentionally when I found discount sale promotion, I took two sheets of it.

The Hokkaido Lover L-Ascorbic Acid Whitening Mask get rid of skin dullness and give you a fair, bright, smooth, and delicate skin and relieves melanin effectively and symmetries skin color

Ingredients: Vitamin C, Bolivian uric acid, Cucumber extract, Arbutin extract, gingko extract

Suitable for all types of skins, especially for dull skin

Functions
1. Smoothen / balances uneven skin tone for soft and smooth skin
2. Improves skin regeneration
3. Balances uneven skin tone for radiant skin
4. Moisturize skin to restore glow
5. Improves skin elasticity

The mask is claimed to be suitable for daily usage or as and when needed. Even a seller recommends wearing the mask twice a day (morning and night) for it will double up the effect rapidly.
The product shall be stored in room temperature. Keep away from direct sunlight and to be used immediately after opening.

Each sheet contains 30ml net weight.

I put the sheet on my face. The sheet size almost fits my whole face. But I think it will be a bit bigger for they who have small face. I let the mask sits on for 15 minutes. I don’t want to make it too long since my face is acne prone.

After that I removed the sheet and massage the remaining fluid until it absorbed thoroughly. A bit wonders that the liquid content absorbs much better than other mask sheets I’ve ever used. Besides, it leaves no sticky feeling at all. Just absorbs perfectly and feels light. This is a good credit for me. One reason that always makes me feel so lazy to use sheet-type facial mask is the sticky feeling it leaves after the removal. But this one is different.
The product also doesn’t lead me to whitehead. I see my face looks radiant after that.

The Face Shop Herb Day 365 Mung Bean

The latest cleansing foam that I get is The Face Shop Herb Day 365 Mung Bean. Actually I was enticed by its big size (170ml) and low price. Besides, I decided to use it after reading an explanation which I got during my search:

“Mung Bean extracts dissolves toxins and removes dead skin cells. Known for its highly anti-inflammatory and anti bacterial properties. Purify skin of excess keratin leaving skin lustrous and smooth.”

I bet it is good to treat my acne-prone skin.
Unfortunately I don’t know the ingredients inside. The back label is thoroughly written in Korean.

The product texture feels very soft and creamy. The color is white pale and a bit greenish. The scent smells as mung bean, nice and not overpowering. It claims to be suitable for all skin types.

How to Use:
Squeeze a small amount into palm and make lather. Rub in circular motion and rinse with warm water thoroughly.

The creamy cleanser lathers up quite much when being mixed with water. I need a very small size to create enough lather to wash my whole face. I think the tube will last for long term. During the wash, I feel the bumps on my face slowly dissolve.

After rinsing the foam off of my face, I see my face looks fresh, radiant, and matte. It feels clean and a bit squeaky when being touched. My complexion looks more evenly toned. Overall I think it’s worth a try. It’s gentle enough, properly washes and comforts my skin without drying.

Dodoclub Cool Aqua Gel

Moisturizer keeps the skin from drying out and provides nourishment. It keeps the skin healthy and supple. It’s important to use especially when we are getting older. The older we get the less skin’s elasticity we have. The skin sagging, fine lines, wrinkle, etc. will come faster if we neglect to keep our skin hydrated.

Cool Aqua Gel is another water-based moisturizer that I have. The texture is pretty similar to BRTC Ice Green Tea Gel. But the effect is not alike. The Ice Green Tea is quickly absorbed, leaves no sticky feeling, and don’t lead to greasy feeling. The hydration property is average. The Cool Aqua Gel hydrates the skin slightly better and at the same time makes my face become sticky oily few hours later.

The gel is stored in 50 gram-size glass jar. It comes in blue-transparent gel with fresh texture. It has light pleasant smelling too. It takes few second before the gel sink properly in my skin. The properties of this gel is moisturizing and hydrating only.

Actually I was eager to list the ingredients which are written on the box. But I haven’t found the box yet. I’ll update this post once it found.

Next, these are some tips of when should we use moisturizer:

After face steaming, cleansing or exfoliation since it removes not only dirt, dead skin cells, or makeup residue, but also the natural oils that is needed by the skin.
Spending long hours in an air-conditioned room cause the skin to suffer from loss of moisture.
Sunburned skin. Using aloe-based moisturizer is the best way to sooth and reduce sunburn.
Before using thick and hardly blending bb cream :p Ok .. This is what I usually do. The bb cream that is applied on top of moisturizer will look smoother and more natural. But, in my case I apply a very tiny amount of moisturizer or my face will get very oily.

Another tip is to apply moisturizer right away when the skin is still damp. The moisturizer will trap the water inside the skin. Beside, moisturizer will sink in best when applied on damp skin.

Feverlet HD BB Cream

After finishing some sample packs of Feverlet HD, I’d like to make a review. This is one of the best finish result bb cream I’ve ever tried. It creates radiant healthy look skin, even when I have bumps on my face.

The texture is pretty thick and the shade is fair. Squeeze out a pea-sized amount onto your finger and dotting the product evenly over your face. Just be careful to not squeeze too much or you will end up with very pale skin tone. Put on a light layer and blend it in to get a right tone.

I like to put moisturizer under the bb cream to ease the bb cream application. The coverage properties is quiet good. It evens out the skin tone and covers up the blemishes. It leaves the skin to be natural and not cakey.

The benefit of Feverlet HD

With SPF 30 PA++
As an improved generation of the previous version, the Feverlet BB cream which has no sun blocking properties, this is a nice thing to have. I personally prefer BB cream with decent UV protection. Thus I don’t need to worry about the harmful sun rays and use separate sun block.

Great Final Result
I have a lot of red acne scars and some pimples along my jaw line, and this product really helps to even out my skin tone and blur the bumps. I love how it gives me fair and healthy look. Even in the middle of the day it doesn’t look dull.

Good oil control
It doesn’t leave me feeling greasy. I do blotting oil for several times a day, but it gives minor bad impact for the appearance of my makeup. I still get healthy radiant look, even in the middle of the day.

Generally I love this bb cream. But I have to stop using it since I realize that I often get bumps after use it a day long.

The Skin Food Aloe Sun BB Cream SPF20 PA+

Finally after pondering for long time, I got my Skin Food Aloe Sun BB Cream SPF20 PA+. I put a huge hope that it will not breakout my skin. I used the Feverlet HD before. It gives me lovely radiant and healthy look, plus nice oil control. But unfortunately it is not friendly to my skin. I often get bumps after use it a day long. I wish the Skinfood’s plays better.

The packaging is sweet. Just as the other The Skin Food products which always come in great outfit.

It comes in 2 shades, #1 (radiant) & #2 (natural). I picked the #2 and the shade matches the color of my skin. It doesn’t give me brighter shade as Feverlet HD does, but it doesn’t make me turn darker as well.
The texture is medium to sheer and pretty easy to blend. For your information, I always put moisturizer before BB cream. If I don’t apply moisturizer, I believe it will be a little bit hard to blend.
The cream has mild scent. I am not really sure what it is, but smells as aloe for me. Once being applied, my face feels light. It doesn’t leave any uncomfortable feeling. I finish it by dusting with loose powder.
The result is dewy and air-brushed look, just as what the site claims. The final look seems to be a little unnatural for me, but still acceptable. I see the cream doesn’t sink properly. The coverage is medium. Red blotches, scars, and big pores are not covered very well.

The oil control is pretty nice. I use Cool Aqua Gel from Dodoclub as the moisturizer and I know this gel gives me a bit too much hydration. But the BB cream does a quiet good job in blocking the oil.

I’ll share the progress once I notice visible further effects.

I just faced my first experience of micro-dermabrasion with Oriflame Dermo Professional. It is a set of DIY facial treatment which consists of two steps: Resurfacing Polish and Perfecting Serum. Actually I am having some pimples but I am eaten by my curious feeling to try the stuff.

Step 1 - Resurfacing Polish Micro-Crystals

Instantly smoothens skin

This is a micro-dermabrasion polishing cream. The consistency is creamy, thick, and the color is white-metallic.

How To Use

Apply the desired amount onto the face and massage it gently.
The cream contains lots of tiny granules that scrub the skin. It stings and feels a little warm on my skin when being applied. I finish it immediately since I’m afraid that it will hurt my skin. After that I rinse off the residue using lukewarm water.My skin feels as liquefy. It becomes so flabby. I never find my skin as this.The step 1 is to be used twice a week.

Step 2 – Perfecting Serum

Bio-Exfoliating Complex - Stimulates cell renewal

Soon after the step 1, I apply toner and continue by applying the step 2. Though it is serum, but more likely gel-textured. While common serums usually appear as liquid. The serum absorbs quickly and finished with matte look. This is an ultra moisturizing serum that can be used everyday as night care.

Result

The surface of my skin becomes softer and brighter. I do like the step 1. It softens my skin surface. But the step 2 is not too great. The first time I used it, I found my chin was bumpy. It seemed like there were some comedo though I just used the scrub. After that I always found whiteheads after applied the serum.

BRTC Gold Caviar BB Cream

This is another luxurious bb cream from BRTC (Bio Remedies Therapeutic Cosmetics): The Gold Caviar BB cream which claims as a triple action cream that contains high concentrated substance of white gold and caviar extract. It provides whitening, wrinkle repair and UV block functions. This is completed with platinum ingredient inside which acts to supply rich nutrients that shaping care for droopy skin.

Main Ingredients
Caviar Extract, Platinum Powder, Arbutin, Adenosine, Human Oligopeptide-1, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Hyaluronic Acid, Green tea extract.

The texture is slightly thicker than BRTC Jasmine Water (JW). The shade is medium. As usual I applied moisturizer before the bb cream. It's a bit hard to be applied, but rather easier to spread than the JW. I give a little dabs on my face to be absorbed better. The coverage is actually quiet good. It covers the major skin imperfections with a little drop of cream. But unfortunately the finish result is unsmooth. I think Missha and Feverlet give better flawless finishing than this one. Besides, the pinkish shade of this cream is a bit unnatural, but still acceptable for me.

The cream sinks on my skin and feels light. I almost feel like I use nothing on my face. It is better than the JW which leaves sticky feeling and uncomfortable. The oil control is quiet OK. My face starts oily after about three hours. The nice thing is when I blot, I find less powder residue on my face paper. So I think it ties up with loose powder properly. My loose powder stays on all day.

I prefer this one compared to JW. The JW leaves my skin moist after I remove the BB cream, but it does nothing with my skin problems. Even I suspect that it leads me to more blemishes. After using the JW for about two weeks, I feel that my face is never free from breakout. I guess the JW is too rich for my oily combination skin.

VOV Daily Fresh Berry & Berry Wash Off Pack

The next VOV daily fresh pack that I used was Lifting Berry & Berry Pack. Different with the Charcoal pack, this one is gel-typed wash off masque.

VOV Daily Fresh Mini Pack Wash Off Pack Berry and Berry contains rich Vitamin which revitalizes skin and prevents the formulation of melanin. The circulation of blood is also promoted, leaving skin moistened and radiant

The masque texture is transparent to purplish, jelly-like and has mild berry scent. It has few of tiny red granules spread over the gel. The granule dissolves when being applied to the skin.

I squeezed a little of the gel and applied it on my well-cleansed face. Let it stays on for 20 minutes. The masque will not dry and tighten up on face. After that, wash off using warm water. It takes some times to remove the masque. Firstly I try to rinse it off with cool water but don’t work. Instead of get rid the residue, the cool water made my face become more sticky. Then I use warm water to rinse and the pack dissolves easily.

The result
I notice that my pores are purified. My skin tone looks more radiant. I think it will be nice to be used as weekly treatment.

Missha All Around Safe Block Ice Sun Gel SPF27 / PA++

Wrinkles and sunburn are frequently caused by the sun rays exposure. Therefore, we need to give extra protection to our skin. Sunscreen which is also called as sun block or sun cream is a product which is usually used as sunlight coverage. It works to reflect some of the UV radiation on the skin.

Receiving a sample of Missha All Around Safe Block Ice Sun Gel SPF27 / PA++, I had no idea about what exactly the product is. I bet it is a kind of sunscreen, and yes it is. It is a sunscreen in gel texture. I have a not too good experience with sun blocks. It's always thick, sticky, and uncomfortable. So I was not too enthusiast to try.

But, I saw a different thing with this one. The consistency is rather runnier than usual sun block. Though it is gel-based, it looks more likely sheer lotion. It's easy to spread and absorb quickly. It leaves a bit cool sensation. The gel itself is white, sheer, and (I think) has no scent. I tried to apply it on my face. Once being applied, my skin looks dewy, moisturized, and surprisingly not sticky. This is lighter than usual sun care.

The All Around safe block series from Missha come in several variants: gel, essence, water-in-sun (what is that??). Each of them has different grade of SPF. These are total all around sun protection that effectively helps protect your skin from harmful UV rays without heavy feeling or uncomfortable.
Unfortunately I hardly find the complete explanation of this series.

Himalaya Herbals Gentle Face Wash Cream

After finishing my Gentle Face Wash Gel and Purifying Neem Face Wash Gel, I decided to buy the other variant: Himalaya Gentle Face Wash Cream which is meant to normal or dry skin. This is the product description:

“Himalaya Herbal's Gentle Face Wash Cream is a soap-free daily use face wash to cleanse and refresh your skin. This is a gentle face wash that nourishes and moisturizes your skin while cleansing it. Unlike soaps, Gentle Face Wash Cream does not leave the skin dry and feeling stretched. Enriched with Aloe vera that nourishes, and moisturizes and Cucumber that cools and soothes the skin, it leaves your skin soft, supple and refreshed.”

Unlike the two other variants, this one is hardly foam. The texture is creamy, almost similar to face cream. I think it is oil-based formula. The cream is pink and has a strong floral scent which smells “oily” for me.

Active ingredients

Cucumis sativus (Cucumber, Trapusha) : Refreshing and toning properties are beneficial as a Face Wash after exposure to environmental extremes and pollutants.
Aloe vera (Barbados Aloe, Kumari) : Possesses skin softening and astringent properties.
Emblica officinalis (Indian Gooseberry, Amalaki) : It is a cooling and cleansing herb.
Curcuma zedoaria (Zedoary, Shati) : It is cooling, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory.

The goodness of Himalaya’s line is that the products are hypoallergenic, do not contain harmful chemicals and do not being tested on animals.

How to Use
After moisten my face, I rub the cream all over the face gently. Wash off and pat dry.

Result
Actually I don’t get the clean feeling after the wash since it is not able to create lather. Though it claims to be not drying nor tightening the face, I still get my face feels tight after using the product until I apply toner.

Etude House Sweet Appleade Body Wash

I got various samples included by the seller in my last hauls. It will take a while to try them all. One of the latest samples that I tried is the Sweet Appleade Body Wash by Etude House. I must admit that the adorable sample packaging makes me could not bear to tear and break the cute sachet.
Before telling about my review, I want to show the active fruits ingredients which I’m sure you’ll be tempted to try it. They are orange, lemon, bilberry, sugar cane, sugar maple.

It claims to eliminate excess residue from the skin, body wash supplies elasticity to the skin with various fruit extract and a fresh green apple scent.

The texture is gel-like, glutinous, and transparent. I only need a pea size amount to produce enough lather to wash my whole body. One sample size can be used for three times of application.

The lather of the wash is not as creamy as foamy soap’s but it’s able to cleanse up the skin properly. My skin feels slick and moisturized once being washed.

The scent of the body wash and the real green apple fruit is very much alike. It is sweet and refreshing. Unfortunately the nice scent only lingers for a while. It would be great if it can last longer.

The Etude House Sweet Appleade line doesn’t consist of body wash only. It has complete range of lotion, foot spray, scrub, and slim body gel. My first touch with the body wash is quite nice. I wish I can get future chances to try the remaining variants ^^

The Body Shop Seaweed Clarifying Toner

I am not too enthusiastic in finding toner. Toner is a must, but not the main course. Usually I find my face feels dry and tight after cleansing. That’s why I always need to use toner which will instantly swipe away the tight feeling and prepare my skin for receiving the next products. I only have two criteria choosing a toner: alcohol-free and helps to control sebum, that’s it. And I think I’m quiet satisfied with my recent toner until I find The Body Shop Seaweed Clarifying Toner.
I bought it incidentally during my visit in The Body Shop counter. As usual they put big banner showed their current promo program, and it was 17% off sale. After walked around for a while, I found there were some mini bottles attracted my eyes. One of it was the Seaweed Clarifying Toner, and it was so cheap. The note of the label says that it is formulated for people with combination/oily skin, just like my skin type. Therefore I was not hesitant to give it a try.

How it works for me?
It is effective. I only need to take little drops of the liquid on my cotton pad to mop my whole face. It has a light scent and gently refreshing my skin.
My pores look less visible and purified. My skin is also less oily. Though it claims to be shine-free, I don’t get matte look on my face. It’s still shiny but not greasy at all. It also effectively cleanses my face. I always find last traces on my cotton pad. Not every toner is able to do that.

I like for it contains hydrogenated castor oil. I read somewhere that applying castor oil on face is a good habit. Honestly I don’t know what the reason is, but subconsciously it formed a philosophy in my mind to think that toner with castor oil is better than others without it.

Now I use this toner everyday and I have forgotten the other toners collection I have.

BRTC Jasmine Water

Again I'm on bb cream craze. I have been using BB cream since 1 year ago. I like how it helps me to reduce my acne and gives me much better skin look. My naked skin texture is not too good. Some acne scars, big pores, and uneven skin tone are really bothering me. BB cream helps me to cover them all. Actually it doesn't instantly give me a perfect skin look. Heavy scars won't be covered perfectly, but it's still acceptable for me. Besides, it last quiet awhile. I only need a pea size amount to cover my whole face properly. That's why I love bb cream and I think I will be a loyal user for long term.

Mostly problem on BB creams I get is about the hard blending caused by too thick texture. I solve it by putting moisturizer before bb cream. The other is the poor coverage. If so, I try to apply more layers. If that doesn't work, I try to apply other thicker bb cream on top of it. Another girl says that she uses concealer before bb cream and that works. I have a concealer but I am too lazy to try that tips^^

The other problem is when the bb cream looks dull in the middle of the day. It happens when my face produces too much oil that makes me needs to do a lot of blotting. I try not too often blotting. It dissolves my loose powder and bb cream.

Usually I put moisturizer, bb cream, and finish it by dusting with loose powder. It will look a bit fake at the beginning, but soon afterwards bb cream will settle down to adapt my natural skin tone. So it will be like a no-makeup look. People still may see some uncovered scars. But it has been reduced a lot.
Some girls complain that they break out on bb cream. I personally also get that sometimes. The major cases come up when I put wrong moisturizer. A too rich moisturizer will lead me to break out. The other cases happen when I don’t cleanse my face properly at the end of the day.

Recently I get BRTC Jasmine Water BB Cream. Instead of buying the full size, I take the sample jar. As you know, BRTC's range of price is quiet wow. I don't dare to take risk of unsatisfying result after wasting a big amount of money. So I decided to make a trial run first.

The BRTC Jasmine Water is a triple function BB cream that gives a glowing skin tone through brightening, sun protection, and wrinkle care. Unfortunately it contains only SPF30 with no PA. We may still need to use extra sunscreen if we want a complete protection of sun ray.
After applying toner and moisturizer, I applied the BRTC BB cream. Its texture is a bit thick but easy to blend. The cream smells like jasmine and seems “rich”. However it just feels so light. I love how it feels as I wear nothing on my face.

The shade is slightly pinkish but naturally finished. The final result is matte and like air-brushed look. The oil control is medium. I get shiny on my nose after two hours.

The coverage is medium. At the moment I have some pimples looking bump on my face. The BRTC helps me fading it out but they are still visible. I think the Feverlet HD does better work in hiding skin imperfections.

Next, just want to share about the story of my Hanbang Sleeping Mask. This is my current favorite product. It has been successfully improve my skin texture. My skin looks smoother and firmer. Besides, it also makes dewy shine.

I use it every night. Actually I don't know if it is allowed or not, but I can't resist myself to take the best treatment everyday. My skin is not as oily as it was, thus I can be more freely use the sleeping mask without worrying of the over-oily that leads to breakout. But I'm not sure about the effect on you who have oily skin.

Other effect that I notice is that my skin become more friendly to the skin products. I mean, it absorbs the cream/lotion/whatever products better than it was. Only I still have the scars and uneven skin surface that caused by acne on the past. Whereas I hope the sleeping mask will do a wonder job in curing my scars problem.

The only thing I dislike is the fragile packaging. Suddenly the tube's cap broken so that I need to make an emergency seal using rubber. Maybe the Dodoclub company reduce packaging cost to give a good price for the consumers, but giving a fragile packaging is not a good idea either. My Dodoclub bb cream's tube is also broken. I'm affraid the content will be broken when they are exposed to the open air.

VOV Daily Fresh Mini Pack (Pure Black Charcoal)

I got a chance to try the VOV Daily Fresh Mini Pack (Pure Black Charcoal). This is a peel off type masque which combats the oiliness by controlling sebum, gently exfoliates and removes the blackheads. It's a little weird to see dark stuff applied on face but charcoal is often used in beauty industries. Carbon (charcoal) is supposed to reduce the excess oil, thus will be more suitable for oily skin. Besides, charcoal is also used to remove the toxins. The last sentence comes from my opinion since I used to take carbon actives medicine whenever I get stomachache.

The VOV charcoal pack comes in a cute sachet which looks as a glass bottle with wooden cap. The bottle filled with charcoal bars. So eye catching.
The sachet holds 10ml size. Quiet much to be used for several times. I store the remaining masque in the cupboard. Surprisingly the pack doesn't dry at all and readily to be used at the next chance.

The texture is black and rather thick; forms as paste. Spread it all over cleansed face with finger or brush. Let the masque sits on for 15 minutes until it dries thoroughly and becomes a tight film. After that, peel it off started at the jaw line in upward motion. Rinse away the remaining residue with water. The masque dissolved easily when being touched by water. It is easier than other peel off masques I tried. Next, apply moisturizer to avoid over drying effect.

The result is clean smooth feel and purified pores. No great effect seen so far, just as usual peel off masques I've tried.

Beside of VOV, I have tried other charcoal packs such as Parci and Shiseido Black Masque. Parci charcoal pack is much tighter than the rest. It's really hurt when I pulled it out. My face looked reddish and sting after that. Shiseido is pretty similar to VOV. But it dried when I tried to store the remaining for future use.
Some girls who try the black masque say that it successfully pulls out their comedos, but I don't get it at all. My comedos stay the same. I do feel that the skin around my nose is firmer than usual, but the black spots (comedos) are still there. Maybe it is embedded to deep or somewhat.

Tony Moly Berry Berry Cleansing Foam

I got a sample size of Tony Moly Berry Berry Complex Cleansing Foam. This is my first adventure with Tony Moly. Just like some other Korean brands, it comes with nice sweet packaging and the products seem natural.
The one I got comes from Berry Berry line which offers nutritious berry extract to treat the skin. It is specialized for whitening and moisturizing. Beside of the cleansing foam, it also has essence, whitening pack, eye cream, lipstick, etc.

The sample I got looks like a miniature of the real tube. It will last for days since I use a very tiny amount each time I use it. Generally I say that it’s a bit similar to Jessie & Rosie Cleansing Foam. The texture is soft creamy with white pearly color. I find that it is hardly foaming when I mix it with water on my palm. So I try to directly apply onto my damp face. The second way works better. It produces rich lather and effectively cleanses my skin without dry it out. The foam itself is white. As usual, I rub the foam in circular motion to dissolve and remove dirt on my face. Then I finish it by rinsing it off with tepid water. It carries light scent which is so refreshing.

The real look of tony moly

The skin looks clean and freshly matte. It leaves no tightness feeling. I do think that it helps to calm down my tired skin. The bumps are a bit fading away. I find no breakout or irritation. It also doesn’t lead me to oilier face.
So far I use it as my second step cleansing since I don’t think that foam cleanser can be powerful enough to remove the makeup properly.

Next, I want to update my review on some products, they are the BRTC Ice Green Tea Gel and BRTC Blemish Soap. Please go here and here to read my beginning review about these products.

The blemish soap has been becoming my daily face wash since 2 months ago. This soap really helps to control the sebum excretion and (I think) it is successfully change my skin type from extremely oily to be combination. And even sometimes I get dry patches on my skin. Whereas it used to be so greasy. Though I’m not really sure that my skin goes dryer is only caused by the soap. The current face toner I use is also meant to oily skin. It also acts to reduce the sebum secretion. Besides, the older I am may be a cause as well. So I conclude that all of the stuff work together to support the oil control. But still, the blemish soap play a big role. I'm even a little scared if it strips the oil out on my face. I want normal skin, not dry skin. I always thought that I can’t use moisturizing products, but now I start to use them.

The BRTC soap kept the oil away for longer time. I don’t need to do lot of blot during the day. It is so much less often than before. Even so, I still find a little shine around my nose at afternoon. The other good news is that I get less acne than before.

Now, let’s talk about the gel. I’ve been using the green tea gel for 2 months. This moisturizer is pretty similar to Dodo club Cool Aqua Gel. For me, it works only as moisturizer, not more. It is absorbed quickly to the skin and doesn’t leave sticky feeling. The gel feels cool and soothes the skin. But unfortunately I feel no skin improvement. It works just to hydrate the skin. I prefer the BRTC Perfect Calming Cream which is more moisturizing than the gel.

As per my last post, my friend bought two products on The Face Shop and got a facial treatment voucher which was used by me. Thanks to her for giving me such pampering moment.

At this chance, I make her to share reviews on the products. Before going too far, let’s call her Chihiro (the real name is not publicized due to her request).

What products do you have?
Acne Solution Foam Cleanser and Post-Acne Brightening Serum. Both of them are included in The Face Shop Clean Face White line.

What it used for?
Based on explanation of sales advisor I got during a visit, The Clean Face White series is a line which is developed as an improvement of the Quick and Clean line. It is formulated to treat severe acne and post-acne marks. The line included:

Post-Acne Nighttime Spot Eraser
White Intensive Blemish Clear Patch
Post-Acne Brightening Serum
Acne Solution Foam Cleanser

The foam cleanser doesn’t only acts to cleanse the skin; it reduces sebum excretion and kills acne bacteria. While the serum is meant to remove dead skin cells and promote a faster skin cell turnover cycle, inhibit formation of melanin and brighten skin. Besides, it also helps reduce sebum, prevent inflammation and get rid the acne-causing bacteria

The foam cleanser is stored in tube packaging 150ml, while the serum is in bottle with pump 40ml

Your skin type please?
Oily combination, acne prone, some acne scars scattered.

Now let’s talk about the product in detail.
Texture of the foam cleanser is white creamy, while the serum comes in discolored sheer glutinous liquid.
The foam cleanser feels so soft when applied to the face. It produces sufficient amount of bubbles with mild green tea scent.
The serum seems like water based formulated. No greasy feeling and instantly soothes the skin. It feels a bit cool when applied.

Direction to Use
Squeeze proper amount of the foam cream onto palm. Apply to the damp face with circular motion to make bubbles. Rinse off with water. Dry up face with clean towel. Instead of wiping the towel off, dabbing the towel is more recommended by Chihiro. If you have oily skin type, wiping the towel on the skin surface will activate the sebum thus your skin will be oilier.

Why it is different with Quick & Clean Mild Foam wash?
The Quick & Clean’s foam wash is suited for oily skin with occasional breakouts while Clean Face White’s foam cleanser is more to be a medicated cleanser for oily skin with persistent acne.

Now we go through the serum usage instruction.
Pump the bottle out to get proper amount of the serum. Apply by dotting in some areas and then spread it out to the whole face using your fingertips. The serum is absorbed quickly and doesn’t lead to greasiness. It gives matte look.

The serum is to be used at day or night, but the sales advisor recommended Post-Acne Nighttime Spot Eraser as night regime. Chihiro has not bought the spot eraser yet. It is quiet pricey.

Chihiro uses the serum independently as her moisturizer. No additional face cream included. And the result is ……

Result (by intense usage)

Choosing a BB Cream

Hi All, I want to share the latest stuff that is bothering me lately. Do you know what? This is about choosing a right BB Cream! Haha .. Some of you may say that there is nothing worth to talk about. But, I think about it the whole day. Have you ever felt a same way when you really want to buy something? I think mostly girls are like that.

I have been trying several brands of bb cream: Skin79, Feverlet, Lotus Blossom, Dodoclub, Palgantong, Etude House, Missha. Mostly of them are good. The term “good” here is something like good coverage, good skin calming effect, good oil control, good looking (dewy/matte finish), no breakout, and good shade. But of course each item has its own intensity of the “good” that I mean.

The missing item here is that I feel no visibly healing effect. I read some reviews where the girls say they find their skin improved, smaller pores, smoother skin, less pimple, etc. But for me, I haven’t got it all.

I’m pondering to choose one between The Skin Food, BRTC, Dr. Jart, or Zamian.

BRTC is rather expensive, so it will not get a high priority than the other.
The SkinFood has its own loyal fans, besides the price (via online shop) is considerable.
Dr. Jart is still 50-50. Some say the Dr. Jart is good for the healing, while others say it ends them up with breakout.
Zamian came with a big acne healing claim. But the users say that after the experience, the result is not as good as the commercial promises. The benefit they got is some kind like bouncy and supple skin, but still finds no effect to the pores or acne. But I’m personally still curious about this brand. Zamian is a new comer in my country. Not too many people have tried, and the trial maybe still runs on few days/weeks only. So in my opinion, their testimony is still too earlier to be judged.

Currently I’m using Feverlet HD. At the beginning I was so impressed with this brand. It gives me fair complexion and quiet good coverage. But then I see that the shade is actually too fair. I can’t use a thick layer since it will make my skin become so pale like dead matte. Therefore I always put a tiny amount of the cream to get a matching shade. As the result, I can’t get a good coverage for the heavy spots. Besides, this one is also not too easy to be applied. I always feel that the cream is too dry. Once I manage my face with the Feverlet HD, my skin look dehydrated. Overall I love the fair shade it gives, but I’m eager to find a new one which is more hydrating plus provides healing.

Skin79 Super Beblesh Balm BB Triple Functions

There are so many BB cream brands everywhere. Do you confuse choosing the right one? I’ve been trying some brands for the last one year. Usually I hooked with the first experience with a bb cream. But after some time, I can make comparison about the one I use with the other. Skin79 Super Beblesh Balm BB Triple Functions is considerable in my opinion. Though it has pros and cons too. Please see what I got so far.

I love to apply this cream for its easily blended texture. The consistency of the cream is slightly sheer and moist so that it can be applied effortlessly.
It does moisten and soothes my face. My skin usually goes dryer in the middle of the day due to the air conditioning room. Thus I will get dehydrated skin. The Skin79 allows me to keep the more moisture on my skin better than the other BB creams I’ve tried so far.
It contains SPF 25 PA++ hence no separate sunscreen needed. I was curious about PA notation added in the SPF term. PA means Protection Grade of UVA, while SPF is some kind like a protection from UVB. So, the women can get complete protection with the mix of both of them. Good!
At the beginning, it gives me matte look and tends to grayish. But after a while it transforms to be dewy look for the cream starts to blend with the oil produced by my skin.
The cream’s color is rather dark yet produces natural shade when being applied to the skin. Not too pale and fair like the Feverlet HD does.
The coverage is light to medium. It helps fixing uneven complexion and corrects red blotches. But if you have heavy acne scars, you’ll need to apply more due to better fading effect. But I think it will not give perfect exposure though.
I realized that my skin goes dryer than usual lately. Yet I still need to blot some times during the day. If I mentioned that I have oily skin at the former posts, maybe I need to revise it to be combination skin type. Some areas are oily but the others dehydrated. Referring to the Skin79 usage, I get medium oil control effect. Need to blot few times a day but the appearance is dewy instead of greasy.

Honestly I can’t say an objective review about the healing properties offered by bb creams. I use Dodoclub bb cream for almost one year and I find no visibly healing effect except it does help me to reduce the breakout. For your information, I used foundation previously before Dodoclub. That’s why I felt improvement when I used bb cream since it didn’t clog the pores as bad as foundation does.
Besides, I use the bb creams randomly according to my mood. Therefore I can’t really observe the improvement on each product. But, the Skin79 offers yummy triple functions that I believe you may interested with. They are:

Ultraviolet rays interception SPF25 PA++

At the moment I use the mini tube size and there is no ingredient list on the box. Maybe in Korean, but I can’t understand the meaning. I’m still not sure to buy the full size version although the packaging has luxurious design. I still want to continue the adventure of BB creams trial

Humane Award

A month ago I got a special award from Lynn: a Humane award. The award is being categorized by kindness, mercy or compassion; marked by an emphasis humanistic value and concerns.
I was very glad to receive the award. Especially for it is a humane award! However, honestly I was confused to choose the nominees since I didn’t know exactly about personality of the bloggers.

I don’t have doggy like Miss K. You does, but I have a virtual pet named “Omenyo”. Sounds weird? Hahaha .. I thought hardly to find a unique name for him. Omenyo is my pet in Facebook’s Pet Society. He is a male. I feel fun whenever I see Omenyo is moving and playing. Let’s take a look some pictures of him:

One of my habits is drawing. Whenever I find a paper, my finger starts to draw. Mostly picture I draw is small object, and it’s often a flower or leaf. If I am thinking nothing, my finger draws flower and leaf. If my feeling is unwell or worrying, the drawing objects become abstract. Mostly forms as messy circles. If I am relaxed and enjoy, I draw some objects as girls, boys, foods, pet, etc. I will not stop unless the paper is full with my sketch.

I work as an IT programmer. Working in technical field makes me working with mostly male. The only women are me and one another girl. If the team goes somewhere, I am often the only girl in the crowd. Fortunately the boys are nice and I’m glad to be friend with them all.

Recently I dream to have my own business. I have been working as an employee for about 4 years and I pray that God will guide me to get my chance to build my own company. I think having my own business makes me become more flexible. I can have more times to take care of my family, serving God, and think about other business chances. I want to have a laundry business and skin care online shop someday.

My favorite comic is Miiko, a Japanese comic by Ono Eriko. Miiko is an elementary school student. Her character is active (and talk active), funny, open, kind, and careless. The way of the writer describes the story is very attractive though the stories are simple. The most enjoyable of Miiko’s tale is the funny images. I love it so much.

I love to sing. And believe or not … I ever represented my department to join the singer competition in my company. I got the 4th place, so I didn’t be a winner. I think it’s good since I can’t imagine if I was one of the winners, maybe I have to sing in other events. And you know, it’s not that easy to perform in the front of many people.

Facial Treatment at The Face Shop

Last Saturday I got my first facial treatment after 10 years. The pain and red blotches I got on my last facial experience hooked me on trauma to get another facial again. But, last week a friend offered me to use her facial treatment voucher on The Face Shop. What a tempted invitation! At the end I called the therapist and made appointment to visit her.

When I came to TFS (The face shop), the therapist was serving another customer. I had to wait for 45 minutes before entered the room. It was a small room with a single bed. The bed looked so comfortable. They’d already put a special clothes to be worn by me. After changed my costume, I lay in the bed and prepared to enjoy my treatment.

I picked the “quick and clean” treatment which is targeted for oily and acne prone skin.

The therapist started the treatment by cleansing the area around my eyes and lip using makeup remover. Then she poured another liquid which I guessed was cleansing milk to get rid my makeup. She used her palms to spread the liquid all over my face in circular motion. I could get massaging effect on that.

After that, she wiped the residue off with wet napkin. The next cleansing steps, she poured other products which I guessed was toner and cleanser foam. I didn’t ask her in every step she did though actually I wanted to. I didn’t want to disturb her and all I really needed was just to enjoy the treatment.

The treatment continued by massaging my face. Still in my opinion, she used peeling gel or maybe blackhead remover to soften the blackhead and so that it would be easily pulled out. The next steps, she still put some creams on my face. I didn’t know exactly what it was. The minimal that I remembered, she put moisturizer right before steaming.

I came to the steaming session. The therapist placed a warm vapor mist tool right above my face. The mist is used for relaxation and opened the skin’s pores while deeply cleansing and rejuvenating all the skin’s layers.

Then the most painful session began. The therapist pulled out my acne and blackhead used metal extractor tool. It’s hurt. Sometimes the extraction made me bleeding and the therapist wipe the blood using tissues. I was crying but tried not to scream. Fortunately she put cotton pad on my eyes so that she could not see me cried.

The extraction session felt so long. But the pain could be reduced when I tried to focus on the Korean music rather than the pain on my face. At that time I realized that the painful feeling is centralized on brain and we can control that.

Finally the extraction finished. The therapist applied an electric tool which was used to kill the bacteria and reduce the inflammation.
Soon afterward, she put another moisturizer and applied oxygen sprayer. It felt very tingle. I struggled not to laugh… hahaha…
Last but not least, she applied mask and asked me to wait for 20 minutes before washed it off and applied sunblock.

Oops, I forget to tell. In the middle of the treatment, the therapist gave me additional relaxing massage. She massaged my face, head, neck, and back. It was sooooooooooo nice.

Totally the treatment took about 2 hours. At the end, my face was decorated with some red blotches. The worst area was around my nose. It looked reddish, just like Rudolph the red nose reindeer. Besides, my hair was also looked dull and messy, whereas I was in a shopping center. Can you imagine how messy I was? Being ugly in the crowd was not nice at all.

You may observe that I used many uncertain words such as “in my opinion, I guess, I think, etc”. That’s true … I didn’t ask too much questions to the therapist since I avoided the possibility that she would end up by offering me all those products.

Here are the facial treatments offered by The Face Shop (which I can remember):

Hydra moisture facial treatment, which is suitable for dry skin type. The Hydra Moisture treatment use two different product lines: alpine and ice water. Alpine series is used for inflame and dry skin, while the Ice Water is for dehydrated and dry skin.
Quick and Clean facial treatment, for acne prone skin
Mini Facial treatment which only takes 30 minutes. Used to cleansing and relaxation.

And the result is …
The first two days after the facial, too bad that I got the skin around my nose was dry and chapped. But I felt my skin was supple and smooth anytime I wash my face. I put sleeping mask at night to nourish and fix the texture of my skin and moisten it.

The third day, when I looked at the mirror, I see my skin complexion was clearer than usual. Wow! I plan to re-visit the therapist again after two months. I consider making facial treatment as my routine regime. The first experience of facial was so great!

Himalaya Herbals Gentle Refreshing Toner

Toner is a must in my skincare regime. A few minutes after I use the facial cleanser, my face feels tight and dry until I apply the toner. Basically toners act to remove residue which is left by your cleanser, provides hydration, tightens pores, and balances the PH of the skin. Those functions at the end will help to prevent pimples.

The alcohol-free alcohol would be the best. Applying alcohol in long term silently will remove the moisture of the skin thus will speed up the aging process. This bad effect will not instantly visible since it works from the inside. But, not all alcohols are bad. According to a forum discussion here, I got information about the good and bad alcohols.

The should be avoided alcohol is alcohol denat or denatured alcohol for it is going to dry up the skin in the long term usage, while the should be fine alcohol are cetearyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, myristic alcohol, polyvincyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, phenethyl alcohol which are used as thickeners.

One of the alcohol-free toner is Himalaya Herbals Gentle Refreshing Toner which claims to purify and refreshes your skin. The key ingredients, Lemon and Jasmine, cleanse and refresh your skin, while Sensitive plant controls excess oil secretion. Sweet marjoram nourishes the skin to keep it radiant and healthy

After using cleansing milk or facial cleanser, pour a few drops of Gentle Refreshing Toner on a cotton pad and wipe thoroughly over your face and neck.

Once being applied, my skin feels refreshed and looks glossy. The toner indeed feels so natural. No drying or sting feel, so light.

Cons

Though it claims to reduce the oil secretion and keep the skin oil-free, it leaves sticky film and leads my face to over-oily few minutes later.
It’s rather hard to pour out the toner from its bottle. The tip of the bottle is sealed and there is a tiny hole as the exit entrance of the liquid. I think the hole in the center of the seal is too small so that only small amount of the liquid can be poured out. I need to do a little effort to get the sufficient amount of toner that I need.

Pros
It is herbal in nature, so I don’t need to worry about skin problems caused by harsh or chemical substances
Alcohol-free

Tips
Ensure that all the remaining water during cleansing time have been removed before applying toner. Soon afterward, apply the toner on your damp skin. Toner will trap the moisture inside the skin hence your skin will hydrates longer.

L’oreal White Perfect Double Essence

I want to share about The L’oreal White Perfect Deep Whitening Double Essence though I think this product has been discontinued now. I can’t find it anymore in the stores. Instead of finding this, I get the WHITE PERFECT Re-Lightening Whitening Radiance Boosting Double Essence which is a new generation of White Perfect formula. I used the Radiance Boosting for a while before passed it to my sister. The effect is quite similar with the older White Perfect edition. That’s why I still want to bring my review which may help you who are in research deciding to buy the product or not.

Melanin-Block, an agent to fight against the production of melanin which is the main source of skin darkening and brown spots;
Pure Vitamin C, substance that enhances skin radiance to reveal smoother, luminous and transparent complexion

It comes in double pump system. One gives white thick essence, while another pump gives orange essence. We need to pump out the both essences altogether to get the balance portion of them. The ingredients are activated when mixed and applied to the skin. Please do check if the orange color turns to be brown. Maybe it is a sign of the oxidized vitamin C.

The best time to apply this essence is at bed time on well cleansed skin. You better use it independently without using any other night care at the same time. I was suffering from acne and its scars at the moment I used this double essence. I think this is not suitable for people with those skin problems. Few minutes after applying the essence, my skin surface felt sticky and oily. But I kept using it until I end up the second bottles. At that time I was poor with knowledge on how to treat my skin and have no idea what skin care should be used.

But I think it didn’t that useless. After finishing one bottle, I could see my skin was glowing and transparent although it helped nothing to fix my acne (of course since it doesn’t being targeted to cure blemishes). The L’oreal White Perfect Deep Whitening Double Essence gives me mild peeling effect hence surely made my skin looked brighter and far from dullness. It slowly faded out my pimple scars. The con was that this essence left my skin more oily and thus sometimes popped pimples out. Besides, it also gave me red blotches which I guess came through the peeling effect of the acid (Vitamin C).

It is suitable for you who have normal to dry skin and want to get radiantly healthy skin.
As I mentioned at the beginning, this product is not found anymore. The new generation, Radiance Boosting edition comes with 2 times more of Melano-block, Vitamin C and Micro White Pearls.

Missha M BB Boomer

Another sample that I got on my purchase was Missha M BB Boomer. This is a primer to be applied before BB cream. The label states that this boomer boosts up the adherence and duration of BB Cream. Besides, it also lightens up skin tone with its pink pearly powder. Let’s take a look what the label says:

Whitening and wrinkle repairing
Containing moringa, patent ingredient, mannan and olive ingredients which have an affinity with skin, it keeps moisture on the skin and creates moisture shield, leaving it moisturized after makeup. Unfortunately I can’t find the complete ingredients of this product. The label behind the sachet was written in Korean.
Contain adenosine and arbutin to improve the skin tone and fine lines

Before going to my review, I want to share what I know about primer. Face primer prepares the skin for foundation so that the make up goes smoother and lasts longer. The word “prepare” is basically telling about even out the skin surface so that the makeup can sit on it better. Besides, the primers are meant to create barrier between skin and foundation. Just apply after moisturizer and then we can carry on with regular foundation or BB cream.

It states about keeping moisture on the skin, so being worried to be over-oily, I use a very light hand on the application. The texture is milky white and slightly pinkish of the tiny pink pearly powders spread over the cream.

I combined it with Missha M Perfect Cover and the result is dewy look. Personally it’s rather hard to say that this boomer really helps my BB cream stays on longer. I hardly see difference between using the boomer and not. It does helps to ease the BB cream application, but my BB cream just stays as usual. At night, after sits on my face for more than 10 hours, my BB cream starts to fade out. Whereas I think the boomer will make it to stays perfectly longer.
The only visible effect is that my tone is slightly different. Using the boomer, my skin tone looks tend to pinkish.

Actually I was wonder why does Missha create a separate primer, whereas common BB cream usually already attaches the primer function on itself. In my personal opinion, I don’t think that I really need a face primer. Bb cream works well for me and already captures the properties that a primer has.

Neutrogena Deep Clean Cleansing Oil

I rarely use cleansing oil. Usually I take cleansing milk and toner to remove dirt and makeup. The creamy cleansing milk gives me a clean feeling as I wipe up the residue with cotton pads.
But some times ago I got Neutrogena Deep Clean Cleansing Oil sample attached in my beauty haul which I bought via online shop. That was my first cleansing oil. Of course I could not compare it to the others since that was the first and only, but here is my review.

The oil comes in discolored slightly watery oil. As a beginner, I had no idea how to apply it. Then I decided to wet my face and poured the oil onto my palm. I intentionally did not clean up my whole makeup first to see how the cleansing oil worked. I did a little rubbing and gently massaged in circular motion while I enjoyed the fresh aroma. It has a strong scent. Smells very good and refreshing, but might be a minus for you who are not really keen with fragranced skin products. I’m personally not complaining about that. I think the scent also acts as aromatic therapy and gives relaxing effect.
After that I rinsed my face with lukewarm water. It cleansed my BB cream residue pretty well, leaves moist and supple skin. No dry, sting, or tight feel at all and didn’t breakout.

I used it as my first step cleanser to remove dirt and makeup residue which are hardly cleansed using foam cleanser. You probably don’t have to but I get used to do double cleansing to ensure that I’ve cleaned my face properly.

The Neutrogena Deep Clean Cleansing Oil is dermatologist and safety tested, also claimed as non-comedogenic. Besides, it is also able to remove waterproof makeup. I could not say anything about the last property since I don’t wear any waterproof makeup.

So far I satisfied with the result, but I don’t think I will buy the full size version since cleansing milk works well for me. Besides, personally I feel that it’s rather inefficient to use cleansing oil. I have to do a set of steps similar to the usage of foaming cleanser. I prefer wipe my face with cotton pads and then instantly get the clean feeling to rinse my slippery face repeatedly.

People might think that cleansing oil is better than cleansing milk, but the fact is no. Both of them have a same main substance: oil. The oil works to dissolve the makeup residue so that it can be removed easily. Both cleansing oil and cleansing milk are adequate enough to get rid most makeup.

The different is that cleansing oil can be rinsed off with water rather easily and doesn’t need to be wiped off with cotton pads. The easy-to-rinse property of cleansing oil is caused by the emulsifier content in it. Emulsifier such as sodium lauryl sulfate may cause irritations in sensitive skin and leads to breakout. That’s why we still need to do double cleansing on cleansing oil usage.

I have special interest with facial cleansers. I believe that proper cleansing is a base to prevent further skin troubles. Here is another one: Skin food Honey Black Tea Jelly Foam. The name sounds very yummy right?! It contains honey and black tea extracts. Honey effectively moisturizes skin after cleansing, while black tea has excellent exfoliating effect that helps eliminating keratin and giving a skin boost. Besides, black tea also acts as astringent that leaves skin lustrous, feeling fresh and hydrated. It’s suitable for oily skin.

The foam itself comes in glutinous jelly transparent texture. Easy to foam and allow to produce a lot of bubbles. I just need a very small amount of the foam and mix it with water to get enough to be applied. Do not pour too much out or you will get too many bubbles and wasting some. End up by rinsing it with warm water. Leaves skin clean, moist, and supple.

It smells so good, just like scent of honey. You probably don’t really keen with the scent for it is too strong. I personally don’t know whether it comes from natural honey or added perfume.
The foam is not drying, but will not make skin to be over-oily. I use it whenever I think my skin needs to be fed and hydrated.

I’ve been struggling to keep blogging while finishing my daily works which are getting more hectic recently. I don’t know why, but this month so many projects meet their release dates. Thus I have to spend more time to support them all.
